I specifically booked this hotel in Herzliya since it was recommended for its spa and gym facility. I usually travel for business and since due to profession I travel more than I am ever at home therefore I rely on doing my regular work out in the hotel's gym. Considering the price and the fact that this is a 5 star hotel it was appalling to see what is called a gym here. Already on the way to it passing my the outdoor pool a terrible sewage smell is accompanying you towards the gym facilities. At the gym you find that the equipment and TV's are old and dated. The treadmills and the TV's are broken. You can not plug in a head set and hope to hear something. I fiddled around and one of the trainers tried to help me there. He was very apologetic explaining that he knows it shouldn't be like this. I must say I felt sorry for the trainers their, who were very professional but clearly ashamed and aware of their poor work environment.

From my business associate a former Daniel gym member I found out that this is an ongoing issue and he explained that he left this gym, because it hasn't seen repairs in years. I asked the manager a lady who is well spoken, but nothing else then we know about it. I didn't bothered to say: Then do something about it, since she considered her job to be predominantly to brush people off instead of truly managing a hotel. Besides the rooms are not well maintained either. Service sometimes arrives fast or never. I would not recommend the place despite its nice location and its supposedly five stars it is more disappointing especially considering that it is anything but a bargain.

Room Tip: don't go there. The best advice I can offer in this case.

This is a lovely hotel on the ocean with a great pool, high-end rooms, and great service. The spa and restaurants are lovely. Great pool-side snack bar and private pool. The shops aren't quite up to the level of the rest of the property. There's a bus line across the street to get into Tel Aviv. The train station is about 20 minutes away.
I definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The Daniel hotel is located directly on the beach. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The service was excellent and everyone was very helpful. Food was good and the spa treatments were great. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Perfect location for beach goers. No hotel parking, so if you rent a car you are on your own.
Great breakfast!
Hotel is nice, but for the price they are charging they can do much better.
My recommendation to hotel: train your staff to work with international tourists. Don't be rude.

Room Tip: Beach facing room

A rather Good Hotel, with some need for re-innovation. BUT, among the best breakfast Buffett ever had, and a Beautiful Sea View.
Outside pool, and a large inside pool as well.
Well equipped Gym
And more than 1 restaurant choices to dine.
Very good service, and only 15-20 min. from Tel Aviv city

Room Tip: Club Room is quite large and good.

Wonderful stay, gracious assistance. All aspects of the two day stay were easy and relaxing, no hassles.
Two suggestions: Dinner in the hotel should be upgraded or avoided; paying for internet is silly in this day and age.
Riki was lovely and very helpful.
Loved the location and area and it made it a real vacation.
