Stayed on a business trip for three days. Got one of the older unmodernised rooms. Felt very tired, with a window that didn't properly shut, a minibar door that promptly fell off when you opened it, a bath shower curtain that didn't reach down to the bath and hung outside the bath anyway so always ended up with a swimming floor, a TV that wouldnt remain on the chosen channel for longer than a couple of minutes..... but a great location on the beach.

The public places are fine and I can't comment on the newer rooms, but at the price I expect better....

This is a very nice hotel with a few drawbacks. Don't even think of using the tennis courts next to the hotel. They are not owned by, or managed by the hotel, and are in horrendous condition. If tennis is important to you go down the beach to the Acadia which has very nice courts. The wi-fi fee at the Daniel is ridiculous. Otherwise, a nice hotel with good food and a great pool and spa.

This is a great place, I was there on business and now want to return to this hotel with my wife for a vacation.
The staff is helpful and friendly. The view of watching the sunset on the Med every night wonderful. Nice pool and access to a great beach. well located for day trips to any place in the country.

Who gave it 5 stars??? Who? It must be someone who has never been to a 5 star hotel…
The property, while situated right on the beach and has its own strip of sand, is run down. The rooms are old and poorly maintained. And don’t get me started on the design – having a roll of toilet paper hanging on the metallic protrusion from the wall is only one little detail of the overall negligence… Most of the rooms don’t have an unobstructed view of the sea- something that you are not going to be told or admitted to by the staff. And yeah, about the staff: They are not willing to help, never mind help – they are willing to lie and deceive I guess in order to promote their own career. One example: Someone left a message on my room’s phone. Not only I was unable to retrieve the message due to the fact that the phone was very old and all the buttons were pushed down and unresponsive to any attempts, but the indicator light was blinking and producing irritating clicking noise every time it blinked. I asked the employee at the front desk to fix it and was told that someone will be over right away. Not only no one showed up – the message simply was erased from the system – it was their way of fixing the problem…
The only acceptable thing I experienced during my stay at the hotel – breakfast. It was fresh and had a good number of choices…

Room Tip: Dont stay at the hotel - wa-a-ay overpriced...

So this is my first review on Tripadvisor. I wasn't motivated to review until my recent stay at the Daniel. In general, very expensive, indifferent staff, old hotel, worth $100/night vs. the $300 paid. A couple of the points.

#1: Everything is way overpriced (internet $25, $60 for lunch, $8 for small beer, etc, etc). It was like I was in NYC, not the coast outside of Tel Aviv

#2: Meeting rooms were moldy, old, no working A/C, a bathroom that smelled inside. It was actually embrassing to have biz. meetings here. I can't believe the hotel actually charged money for these.

#3: Poorly trained staff: Took 1 hour, 5 people to get a projector to work, refused to bring me a bar of soap to my room (kept giving me shampoo), nearly impossible to get coffee at breakfast

#4: Poorly staffed: Always a long wait at front desk, restaurant doesn't open until 6:30am (give me a break, people actually do have meetings before 7am !)

#5: Unreliable internet service that I paid a fortune for.

#6: Poorly laid out room. You had a good view, but unuseable desk, couldn't get to closet (desk blocked it), phone didn't function properly

The saving grace was the location on the beach and the renovations going on south of the hotel with the buildout of the boardwalk.

In general, it wasn't horrible but it was worth ~$100/night and I wouldn't have a business meeting there where I need the conference room.

The hotel is mainly for business men, and is meant for them. It's not for kids. The location is great- close to Tel Aviv and Hertzlia marine. Maybe this is why he cost that much.

Altoguh it's an old hotel, some of the rooms have been upgraded and you can get a "new" room. In general, rooms are not so big, actually "business" rooms are designed for 1 person (maybe 2).

Pros:
- Nice location, there's a mall very close
- Beach!! the beach is just few steps and you can find nice beach bars around
- Food is good, specially for breakfast, try other options nearby where you can fin local food.
- Pool is really nice, big enough to have fun on it, specially on summer.

Cons:
- If you don't get a balcony room you will feel like a mouse in a box
- Due to the location of the hotel, taxi fee is expensive
- Altouugh rooms are clean sometimes service people is very lazy and perform a fast clean.
. Internet is EXPENSIVE! if you are lucky you can catch a free signal, or try to get at least one day at the Business Center to get the WiFi password.

You can spend the weekend in the beach watching people playing watersports, or you can try to get the bus to Tel Aviv (10NIS one way bus) that will drop you to the Carmel Market which is really nice if you are looking for a really tourist experience. Jaffa is 10 min walk from this place and then you can wal around Tel Aviv.
If you prefer taxi, prepare 100NIS to get there.

If you are traveling with kids, believe me....the y will love it and you will enjoy your trip.

ENJOY!

Room Tip: Ask for a beach view room
