Villa 1000 has got to me one of the most comfortable places we have ever stayed. The host made us feel like we were extremely welcome from the moment we arrived!! We could not have asked for anymore. Definitely recommend staying here if you are in the Dead Sea / Masada area.

Moshe, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. The villa overall is also very nice.
Great location in Arad - a small quiet town some 25 minutes drive to the Dead Sea. A very nice base to explore the area, as the climate is materially nicer in the summer vs. the Dead Sea itself. Gets moderately cool in the evenings and we did not even turn on the aircon, while the Dead Sea coast does not cool off a bit. The route to the sea is a pleasure itself with a winding road down the mountains with moon-like landscapes.
We had a studio on the first floor with a separate door from the terrace. Very nice a quite. The terrace is shared with 4 other rooms, but it is very big and enough room to comfortably sit and talk.
The room was nice and clean. Fairly small, but enough to fit two of us with our bags. And we did not plan to spend too much time in the room in any case.
Arad has at least one very nice cafe - sport bar called Muza. We have heard of two more places, but have not checked them. Also an interesting restaurant in a small village. It's market as Durayjat on the google maps, somethign like Da'regat on the road sign. Also Derjit, Derjat in some guides. All the same place. A small arabic village some 20 minutes drive from Arad.

Villa 1000 is a nice, clean hotel to stay with a very hospitable and caring owner. The room is rather small, but enough to have a good night sleep and even cook something (we've chosen a studio). There is a small fridge, a microwave and an electronic kettle with tea and coffee. The room has a fan and a conditioner, but I higly recommend to open the window at night, because the air is amazing. There is a small terrace with tables and a swing and you can enjoy a glass of wine outside in the evening. The location is perfect, especially if you rent a car. It is a 25-30 min drive to the Dead Sea and about 1.20 to the Meditteranean, about 1.40 to Tel Aviv and about 1.30 to Jerusalem. Arad is a clean developing town with a couple of nice restaurants. There is a supermarket if you want to buy cook something in the hotel or just get some fruit and water. Even though the Dead Sea is close, the climate here is much better. Mornings and evenings here are nice and fresh. I absolutely have to mention that the owner of the hotel Moshe is ready and eager to help 24/7 with any information or advice on how to find something or where to go best and when. The sweet caring touch is even felt in the decoration of the rooms where the colour of the bed sheets matches the glasses, the carpet and the walls. I absolutely recommend this place not only because the price is very reasonable, but just because you will definitely enjoy it in Villa 1000.

We settled for Arad as we wanted to stay away from the 200 rooms hotels of the Dead sea. And the place is indeed offering the charm you miss in such chains. On top the owners are super friendly and helpful, and the room we had was giving directly on the terrace and the desert.

Room Tip: if possible ask for room 3-5 downstairs wich give you more privacy and direct access to the terrace

We had a fantastic stay at Villa 1000 while visiting Masada and the Dead Sea. Arad is a great place to stay, especially if you want a taste of the Negev as well. Stunning views of the desert just a few minutes walk away. Moshe was extremely friendly and helpful, do ask for guidance on local hiking trails. Useful to have self caring facilities and the terrace was very peaceful.
