“Best hotel in Akko”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2012

Best hotel ever, we just came back from the hotel.
The place can not be better, rooms are great and the service is so personal.
This is by far best hotel in Akko, we stayed only one night and we want to come back for more.
The location is perfect, in old city, walking distance from all places, good restaurants close by.
They also have parking for hotel customers.
You must ask the owner (who is amazing) to tell you the story of the building and the story how he build the hotel, it is incredible how much people willing to invest for their dreams.

Room Tip: Corner room second floor was very good.

I stayed at the Akkotel a few times on business travel, and loved it so much - so now coming back with family again.

I had a room that wasn't as big but perfect for my needs. All was spotlessly clean, the room was well fitted with everything needed, air con was blasting cool (which is pretty important in the Israeli summer...). Free Wi-Fi which was very useful as a business traveller.
Breakfast is lovely, authentic and has a great variety of local dishes, chesses, produce, etc. So, I was a bit surprised by those that wrote it is limited – come’on, you don’t need an omelette station everywhere you go in the world, try something different every now and then…
The inside of the hotel is also beautiful, all restored and gives a real feeling and sense of character. As business travellers some people of our party wished for a bit more lobby areas and common places to meet, but given it’s a great boutique hotel, there was an overall consensus that it was well worth the trade off with all the other benefits. The staff were also great in opening for us the rooftop and serving us beers up there. So we enjoyed the amazing view and breeze.
The location in the heart of the old city is also great. We brought different guests from abroad a few times and they also found the entire experience to be unique (some even came back to Akkotel with their families on holiday).

Staff are friendly, provide great service and are always willing to assist with everything.

As said, I’m also coming back with wife and kids this month for a weekend and truly looking forward to it, and to seeing the family rooms.

We had two rooms at this charming hotel right in the centre of the old city of Akko for two nights in mid-July 2012. The family who runs it is extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. The rooms are spotlessly clean; one was larger than the other but even the smaller one was adequate (not especially beautiful, but certainly good enough). The airconditioning worked well, despite ridiculously hot temperatures in the early 40s (celsius!) and the Arab-styled breakfasts were excellent and full of variety. The rate of $130 per room per night, B&B, was reasonable. The hotel is round the corner from an old gate leading into the city, and an interesting beach area which was populated by local people on the Saturday. Akko is certainly worth seeing.

Our stay was great in every way. The place is loaded with historic charm. The room was very comfortable and roomy. Both the people at the front desk were very helpful in finding and giving information. We needed a pharmacy and they helped. Train service was down when we left and they fond alternatives. Highly recommended.

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks, the owners were very helpful and also the staff. The hotel is unique due to it being built into the wall of the old Acre city. There was not a huge choice at breakfast but it was enough and the rooms were excellent, and offered reliable interent connection which as a business traveller is always important. Parking is very limited though the owners do try and keep a few spaces free for the hotel guests.
The only negative is the noise from the nearby area, including the mosque, which can mean being woken up at 4 am but then it also adds to the charm of the old city.
