Certificate of Excellence

My first time visiting this country with my sister and friends was enjoyable, and staying at Akkotel made it even more enjoyable. Elia, the hotel owner, and the Akkotel staff were the most hospitable, friendly, and welcoming! The service was excellent, the rooms were excellent, the food was excellent, the location was excellent... in other words, Akkotel is excellent in every way!
The rooms were of the utmost comfort and clean, with a bonus of free wifi from the rooms and a computer in the main lobby for internet use. The food was superb, very tasty and filling. The location of the hotel is amazing. It is part of the fort walls and right in the heart of Acre's old town. I would suggest you visit the roof of the hotel for spectacular views, as well as explore the fort wall for even more spectacular views of the picturesque Acre harbour and old town.
I would highly recommend staying here when visiting this country. I will definitely return to Akkotel!

I spent 2 days at akko hotel in may 2011. Akkotel is really fantastic athmosphere hotel with a Great and very kind support from Akko Hotel employee. Perfect location very close to main interest Akko sites (Al Jazzar Mosque, The Crusad Citadel and main Akko attractions)

I do personally recommend Akkotel to anyone.

I stayed at the Akkotel on April 7, 2011. We found the rooms clean, the staff very helpful, the buffet breakfast (included in the price of the room) was delicious with a significant variety of healthy menu options. The food was fresh and tasty. As far as location is concerned, this hotel is situated just inside the southernmost gate of the ancient walled city of Akko (Acre) within easy walking distance of the main tourist attractions. The hotel staff directed us to the Akko Visitor Center and told us about the combination ticket. We were able to see several of the attractions in a half day, although I would recommend more time in the city. I think, if I stayed in Akko again, that I would stay a minimum of two nights. The rooms were not overly large, but they were very clean and furnished with air conditioning and a flat screen television. The hotel is also located just inside the city gate, attached to the wall. It is a very short walk out the gate to the Mediterranean beach. I very highly recommend this hotel. In my six trips to Israel, this is by far the best hotel in which I have stayed. If you choose this establishment for your stay in Israel, you will not be disappointed. There is a reason for the very highly rated reviews that it receives on trip advisor.

We stayed in the Akkotel for two nights. The hotel itself is an historic gem, built inside the walls of the Ottoman fortress. There could be no better place to stay in an ancient city that bears the imprints of 4,000 years of history. The hotel has thick stone walls that stay cool and dry, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Elia and his staff take excellent care of their guests. They are hospitable and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel serves an excellent meal. On the evening my wife and I dined there, it was quiet (as December in Akko tends to be), and so the kitchen put together a meal to order for us. The ingredients were fresh and the food was beautifully prepared. The staff is friendly and polite. The Akkotel is perfectly suited to help guests capture the romance and wonder of an ancient city that was at the center of world trade for centuries and remains an archaeological treasure.

The accolades that the Akkotel has received on this site are well deserved. The owner has designed an intimate hotel that integrates the stone walls of an old Turkish Police Station into every space. In our room the rich dark brown furnishings and four poster bed made us feel as if we were staying in an elegant inn during the Ottoman Empire but with a remote control for the flat screen TV. The Israeli buffet breakfast was simple but tasty. The owner was very helpful, liberating a parking space in front of the hotel where our car remained for our two night stay as we walked to all the sights in Akko. He recommended we stop at a Tunisian Synagogue on our way out of the city whose interior is completely lined with beautiful mosaics, a sight missed by most tourists. When I mentioned to him the reviews on Tripadvisor, he took great pride in showing me the certificate that he had on the wall attesting to the excellent recommendations on the website. When we first entered Akkotel, the sight of the Christmas tree contrasted with the sound of Shabbat songs coming out of the dining room. It seemed to set the tone for a peaceful and beautiful stay. Needless to stay we recommend the Akkotel highly and would stay there again.

There have been so many rave reviews here, it almost doesn't seem worth adding another one. We stayed in the Akkotel for five nights with our family of four - parents and children aged 9 and 7. We had a family room, which was not enormous, but seemed larger because the kids had a mezzanine floor (which they loved), with a ceiling too low for adults. The hotel was very quiet while we were there, which meant that we often got our own personal buffet breakfast, with no request too much trouble for our lovely hosts.

The hotel is built into the walls of the old town, which makes it a fantastic location for seeing anything you would like to see in the old town. Akko is also a good base for northern Israel, if you have hired a car (we saw Haifa, Rosh Hanikrah and Meggido from here). Very few people seem to stay overnight in Akko, but this hotel makes it worth it!
