Ranked #3 of 4 Hotels in Acre

I was here last weekend with my husband for 3 nights. The hotel is a bit dated but the grounds more than make up for the tired decor. The view in the morning and expanse of grass, private beach and poolside ensure that holiday feeling.

The food was generally good, except on Saturday, but that is not unusual for a hotel in Israel. In fact, everything was a bit off on Saturday, as the hotel is located in a country club that is open to members on the weekend, so the pool and outdoor facilities were overrun on Saturday.

The rooms are fine, clean and with all the facilities (bath tub, hairdryer, fridge, TV). The staff are friendly enough and the location is great.

A few complaints- the hotel only stocks one type of wine and the bar staff do not know how to open it. The pool, beach and outdoor restaurant/bar close ridiculously early. Akko (or Acre) has zero nightlife so you rely on the hotel to offer something to do in the evenings beside the kids disco and dinner, but everything is closed from 6pm. The lack of toiletries in the bathroom was also strange (all that is offered is a dispenser of soap in the shower) and the weird cheap aftershave smell in the lobby is baffling.

Despite all this, the view and the grounds make this a great base to explore Akko from. We spent as much time in the hotel beach/pool/spa as we did in the town and if we had stayed in the centre as originally planned, it would not have been nearly as good a weekend.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the old city of Akko for an amazing view in the morning. Some of the floor...

Love love love the Rimonim chain...have never had a bad experience at any of their hotels! The Chof Hatmarim (Palm Beach) was no exception. Great facilities - huge pools (indoor and outdoor), sprawling lawns, private beach etc. Food as always with Rimonim- above average. Clean rooms, great staff etc.

Negatives- facility a bit dated- but what can you do, slow elevators, some eyesores around the pool etc that should be cleaned up, barbed wire fences, exposed storage, ...whole outdoor space could use a little freshening up but it doesn't really affect your stay.

Overall a terrific experience. Would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: If you're traveling with kids, be sure to ask for rooms with attached kids wing- an adjoining sp...

This is a rather old hotel in Israeli standards. Nevertheless it is well preserved and offers a good deal.
The rooms are clean, the breakfast rich and tasty and the facilities. This hotel
has a private beach, spacious lawn and two swimming pools
it is a good starting point for travelling the Galilee as well as a place to rest

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the sea

LIke the Budapest Hotel, the Acre Hotel could use some major renovations, but overall it was clean, with large accommodations and we even had a jacuzzi pool tub in our bathroom! The food was bland, and they were not very accommodating. The worst part about the place was that it reeked of men's cologne, like someone was spraying it all over to cover up another smell. I get sensitive with those kinds of scents so I had to hold my nose whenever we left our room. It had a great location right on the Med, with excellent workout equipment and 2 pools, one indoor and one out! I am sure that if the owner put more work into keeping up the rooms they would have more business.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the 7th floor, the elevators stop at the 6th and then you have to deal with your l...

I was here for business; however, for me it would be worth the 40 min drive to/from Haifa to stay in a nicer hotel. It's a shame b/c the location is so nice! The beach is very dirty and closes at 5PM...I've NEVER stayed at a beachfront hotel that closes at 5PM! Perhaps it's unsafe after that time; whatever the case, after a day of work, it would have been nice to be able to sit at the beach. One CAN walk to the public entrance, but it's a hike and very inconvenient. The breakfast wasn't good at all, the rooms seemed unclean. The rooms and bathrooms need updating. Again, a shame given the beautiful location on the beach. I looked online and the pictures do not represent the room I stayed in...perhaps there's a remodeled wing--but my room was gross. I wouldn't stay here again even if it was free!

This is where we should have stayed while in the Haifa area. It was a large hotel with magnificent grounds along the beach. It was a swim club as well as a hotel so it had a large Olympic style pool and hot tub in a separate building. In the rear of both buildings was a huge lawn with chairs and tables and lounges for sunning. The beach, separated from the grassy area by a fence, was lovely. Only one gripe, the beach was closed at 5:00 p.m. (no access via the gate) and the pool area was closed at 5:30 p.m. We would have like to go for a swim after visiting the old city of Acre and before getting dressed for dinner. The rooms were a bit small and due to the fact that someone had been smoking in the handicap accessible room we stayed across the hall. Neither room had space to accommodate a wheelchair comfortably but Israel is not ready to deal with the physically challenged in all areas of the country. They are making an effort however to make the country accessible for everyone. This was a lovely facility. It was too bad we did not get to use the beach or pool. By the way, the food served in the dining room at dinner and breakfast leaves a lot to be desired.

Room Tip: Every room has a wonderful view.

We spent two lovley vication days in Akko city. It was a romantic vacation, although the hotel has facilities that really great for children and all the family. this could be a parfect hotel for family vacation.

we spent a lot of time in the heated pool and hot tub (There are also saunas). the beach is very big and comfortable with a lot of seatings.

The room did not look exactly like the picture presented by the hotel's web site, In reality the room are less well-groomed and the double bed was two single beds joined together. you should ask them for complete double bed when you booking. we asked them to change room to get a complete double bed, but our request was only replied when we talked with the manager (this is how it works in Israel)

breakfast was excellent!!

The only disadvantage was the location- need to take a texi to get to the old city (taxis were cheap)
