It was early October and maybe lobsters were out of season but choice was very limited so we went into Mataram to Simbilan Simbilan (99) Seafood Restaurant.

No idea why this place is so quoted. Actually we arrived when the first customers was about to finish. Cats on the tables eating directly from dishes and rice pots (in bamboo, usually not washed), table uncleaned. We didn't care and we ordered a fish mixed grill; prawns overcooked, gummy squid, hard snapper, but juicy clams.
The service was lazy.
Probably being a "raccomanded" place on LP may have a bad effect.

We tried grilled fish there and were disappointed with the quality, considering it is directly on the sea.

All family member loves the food since they provide variety of sauce. I take taxi from Santosa beach and resort hotel, and ask the driver to wait, I think that's the best option rather than wait for new one after meal.

This restaurant was recommended by a local as my friends and I were sick of 'Tourist Traps' that charge ridiculous prices for sub-standard food.

The menu here has a set option in addition to the typical spread of seafood choices (King prawns, lobsters, variety of fish, squid, etc). We chose the set option as it allows us to try a variety of seafood without paying too much.

There're 3 set options; A, B and C. All 3 come with King prawns, calamari, clams, fish, sambal kangkong (veggie dish), a fresh fruit juice and a choice of either fries or rice. I believe Option C has an additional lobster. Option A (90, 000 Rp) and Option B (100, 000 Rp) differs slightly in the quantity of the choices.

The food was nice, nothing fantastic but value for money. If the sambal kangkong is too spicy for you, you can simply order another fresh fruit juice for 10, 000 Rp (which is much lower than the 15, 0000 to 30, 000 Rp that other places charge).

A point to note is that the orange juice here appears to be made from syrup (?). The best juice was the pineapple; sweet, freshly squeezed and icy cold without large chunks of ice.

The restaurant does see it's fair share of tourists, but because it's further away from the main Senggigi area, has more locals and charges are more reasonable sum for a nice filling meal.

One tip for late night travellers - you can hire a Bluebird Taxi and tell the driver to wait for you while you eat as few taxis drive pass the area due to it being away from the main Senggigi area. An hour wait only costs you 18, 000 - 20, 000 Rp (~USD$2) and you get to eat without worrying about transportation back to your hotel.
