“Dated, but in a cool way”

The Puri Bunga is one of the older hotels on the Sengiggi Strip. The rooms are decorated in an baroque Balinese style that tries too hard, and yet is very charming.

The bathrooms are clean, the terraces are lovely, and the pool is fun. I don't see how anyone could regret staying here.

The room was very big, but a bit dusty furnitures. Every room has a terrace, so you could see beautiful view from there. They provide a small refrigerator, tv, aircon, coffee&tea in the room. I just didn't like the cockroach under my bed and inside the cupboard, and it's too dark outside in the night. Step carefully, because the path is slippery.

This is a very nice hotel. But be aware, the renovated rooms are basic but very nice with a good shower, the rooms who are not renovated are not so okay. The hotel itself consists of 50 Rooms, situated in cottages on the mountains side in Senggigi.
If you do not like to climb to your room, stay away, but if you like a nice view, in a good (renovated) room, a nice swimming pool, in a very good location. You are just right here.
If you walk out the hotel, the beach is only 100 meters, you have to cross the road and the art market, but that takes only a few minutes.
The breakfast was fine, it is a mix of european an asian breakfast, basic but okay and fresh. The kitchen for lunch and dinner is good and they serve it at the pool too. Staff was very friendly and helpfull.
Definitely worth the money

Room Tip: If you want value for your money, you have to book a renovated room, as close to the pool if possibl...

Considering you are in Asia and on a poor island and you choose for this hotel, you really do yourself a favour ! The hotel is quite old, but nearly all the rooms are just renovated. Good that they kept the Asian style of the fourniture. If you choose for luxury and high rates, than cross the road. The rooms are situated in typical Balinese houses, with a private little terrace with fourniture.
Bathroomdoors are not loud, that depends on the person who is closing it. The bathroom is good and clean, with a nice shower and toilet and washbassin. The bed is great. The pool fantastic overlooking the sea with lovely beds and free pooltowels. There is free WIFI for the guests. If you wish : roomservice, the staff and the manager are wonderful people, nothing is too much and every wish is a command ! It's our second home ! One negative point is the traffic, you can hear the traffic passing by. Guests need to be able to climb some stairs while the hotel was built on a mountainside overlooking the sea.

Room Tip: Situated only a minute from the beach, good price, very nice food. Suites are more quiet.

Pros: good location, lovely views, comfortable beds, reasonable service.

Cons: rooms tired, little sound proofing between rooms, incredibly loud doors to the bathrooms so you could tell when your neighbour was going in and out of that room, average breakfast.

My recommendation when staying here is to go to the Sheraton across the road for the day - if you buy a drink from their bar you can use their fantastic pool and base yourself on one of the lounge chairs for the beach.

We stayed 3 nights and were glad to leave. The hotel is pretty used up. Cleaning won't help much. The bathroom was disgusting, we wouldn't enter or shower without our flip flops on. The ladys at the reception were very rude. We were pretty much ignored. I have to say we got a welcome drink.
The luggage carriers were very friendly, they were the only ones though.

This hotel has a good location in Senggigi and is a fine accomodation if you are staying in Senggigi for a few days. Keep in mind that the hotel is located on a mountain and that some of the room has a rather steep climb so this hotel is not for elderly or people with a pram.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The dive school next to the hotel is not that good, if you take a left when getting out, and walk on the other side of the road for about 10 min you will find Dream Divers a excellent dive school!
