The house is badly situated on roadside and far from the center, without any view on the landscape and without garden.
The rooms were clean but basic and overpriced.
Furthermore, the welcome of the owner was unpleasant.
We thus decided to go somewhere else!

We arrived in the evening without booking and were lucky enough to get a room here. The owners were kind enough to give us a discount on the only room they had left (a triple but there were only 2 of us). The room was very spacious and clean but the bathroom was cramped and not overly clean with a constantly running toilet. The room at the very front (room 1) was extremely noisy. It is located pretty much by the road and on a bend so forget sleeping after approximately 5am. The noise is not just heavy traffic but beeping horns, crowing roosters and other guests coming and going. This room is also adjacent to the breakfast area so the noise there starts from 7am. As other people have mentioned, the owners really do have a funny attitude. They are quite helpful when asked for advice but their customer service is quite poor in that they come across as abrupt and like patrons are interrupting them (after I was greeted for breakfast and left alone in the dining area for 10 minutes I got up to find some service and the owner was sitting at reception as if I weren't there. I then had to wait til she was good and ready to look up from her paperwork and acknowledge me). Also when checking in it was insisted both myself and my partner give our visa numbers from our passports, I thought this was a little odd and annoying. Bear in mind that you must pay in cash here, another annoying aspect for a business that seems like it should at least have card faciilties when dealing with that volume of money.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as far towards the back as possible. I think perhaps room 4 or 7 might fit the bill.

Arrived here late in the evening but our rooms were ready. Well appointed and very clean although the bathrooms are very small. Free wifi was good enough for a FaceTime call back home. It can be a little noisy because it is very close to the main Trans Flores Highway so you might need ear plugs if noise disturbs you. Nice that you can refill water bottles at no cost which is often not the case.
Breakfast was the standard fare in these places but it was well presented and arrived quite quickly even though there were 5 of us and the place was fully booked. It is a little pricey but Flores is THE place at the moment so you can't expect the locals to ignore that. Recommended for a one night stay.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms on the main road if possible.

The owner was an ice cube! Just barking at us because his staff didn't pick our booking right and we needed less room than he thought..
Rooms are VERY clean but there's nothing charming about this place. And it's way overpriced! Flores is generally overpriced but happy happy even more..

Lots of other places to go in Bajawa!

The guesthouse was very clean and comfortable but the layout of rooms reminded me a bit of a school so didn't feel terribly homely. As other reviewers have commented cleanliness can be difficult to find on Flores so it was great to have somewhere to relax and not worry about that aspect. The owners were helpful and friendly and it was a good base for exploring the beautiful traditional villages in the area.

We looked at five different options in town. Overall, we found Bajawa rooms overpriced by a lot compared to the rest of Indonesia. I guess the market is so limited they can.

Happy Happy was clean, new, fresh, and comfortable. We were very happy with all that. But at 300,000 rupia, for a room right on the busy street with a lot (a lot) of street noise, and a lot of noise from the common area I thought 200,000 was a bit more in line with what it should have cost per night.

The breakfast was good. Nice bread & yummy jam.
