This is a pretty spot, and its fun to hike up there and be up there for the sunrise. But do not expect bright red lakes or anything like that. The red is gone, so the lakes look more normal now. But its still a nice spot.

i went up with friends and our guides were great, thanks Andy and Willy! We left Moni around 8am and it was clear and not cold when we arrived. At the top we watched the clouds come in which was fun too, and were lucky no rain!

We visited this place twice and were very impressed. It is not difficult to get to - we recommend that you get transport up and walk down to see the various villages. Do not miss the arboretum just after you start the descent and remember to take water and to turn left in the second village opposite Agnes place to get back to Moni quickly.
The experience at sunrise (great views but a lot of people) is different from going up later in the morning when you will very likeky be alone and able to appreciate the awesome scale of this three crater volcano.

We were led to believe that you could see all three lakes at once and that they are all differnent colours. Whilst we were there, two of the lakes were the same colour turqoise. It is impossible to photograph all three lakes at once except from the air. The mountain scenery is fantastic.
