Danau Toba International Cottage

Stayed there for a night.

Pros:
a) amazing view of Lake Toba -> especially from the restaurant

Cons:
a) room condition
- no proper maintenance & quite run-down overall -> esp the toilet; really dirty
- many mosquitoes ard (remember to bring mosquito spray so that you can spray the room before sleeping or you will probably have sleepless nights)
b) wifi
- wifi is limited to the restaurant area -> was really frustrated as the wifi works for 5 minutes, and then it disconnects for 10-15 mins, and then it reconnects, for maybe another 2 minutes? and, you know the cycle after
c) hot water -> only available from 6am to 8am & 6pm to 8pm -> do not start bathing at 6am sharp or 6pm sharp as it will still be really really cold then *silly me*
d) air con/fan -> no air con/fan as the weather is really cooling and nice. but as mentioned, many mosquitoes so unable to leave room windows open (no mosquito netting) -> so it can get quite stuffy in the room at night
e) security -> no security at all in the room -> no extra locks whatsoever -> my bro could easily pick the lock to open our room door & there are people fishing around the resort/Lake Toba (meaning public can easily enter the resort)

Stayed here 3 nights. The location is within walking distance of local small ferry boats and city centre with local restaurants and shops. The hotel is situated at the lake with great views. The hotel is ok, its not expensive so should not expect too much - only hot water between 6-8 am/pm and furniture, bathroom and floor look very used and need replacement (and the bathroom a good clean). Water bottles and toilet paper were not replenished only when I asked. Staff forgot to bring towels, water shut off just during the 2-hours shower window, hmmm - not so good. Then the noisy part: don't expect to sleep in as early morning (6am) groups of people start to pass by the walking path in front of the hotel, leave engines running in the car park, or hotel staff/guests arrive and starts talking loudly in front of your doorstep. Also the tour/ferry boats pass by with loud music early morning and one night had to insist a private party one floor below my room in the restaurant to stop the music at 12am cause I wanted to sleep.

Room Tip: Superior and standard rooms are not much different except for a little more space. The cottages are...

It's an awesome view, be it sunrise...sunset...The receptionist was expecting me but have apologize that the room was not ready. So we proceed to Samosir Island for sightseeing.
The service was good. As it was tiring...have called the front desk if there's any masseur available. Even though the service was not available, she arrange for outsider masseur at rate of IDR150k. The hot shower is only available during certain hour so you might want to follow the time or else it will be like showering with ice water. Breakfast not much of choice but OK overall. BTW, the room have no aircond as the place is already cold.Standby mosquito repellent.

Room Tip: If you have senior citizen travelling with you, do request for room that can be reach with car-Highe...

Although is 2 star Cottage but the location is strategic where all room facing to the Lake Toba.We can see the sunshine and sunset with bloowing wind. The sorrounding view is very natural beautiful. This cottage is near by with the jetty to explore Somasir Island. It takes 10 minute to reach the jetty by walking. For breakfast the place also nice view as while we eating we can see lake Toba and people swimming in the pool.Only my suggestion is the management need to restructure or up grade the fercility as the cottage is quite old.Anyhow,is the best place to stay if you want to visit Lake Toba.

Room Tip: Ask for middle of the room as you can see all the view in Lake Toba

This hotel is located at the heart of the Lake Toba. From the hotel, you can hire a boat to go to the Samosir Island where you can find a shops to buy many kind of souvenirs, watch the Batak performance and have your lunch there.
Considering the service and condition of the hotel, there are mosquitoes in the room. Furthermore, there is no air-conditioner in the room because Danau Toba is a cold place. We only got to use the wifi at the cafe that means, it has no wifi in your room. Lastly, the swimming pool is dirty.

All round awful hotel. Very first impression was at check in, where the 4 receptionists were constantly giggling at the sight of foreigners. More staff than there are actual guests in the hotel. We booked two rooms, rooms were fine, except no air-conditioning or at least a fan. One of the rooms we booked, on getting there, we found a used and dirty matress just laying there outside the door. Dinner at the hotel was particularly the worst. The food is very over priced and tasted awful. Living in Indonesia, you know the general prices of food or drinks, and here the prices were at least double or even triple. For instance, my beer was warm, and my chips were cold! On explaining this to the restaurant staff, i just got a blank expression. I went to the reception area to make a formal complaint about our experience, and was met with yet another blank expression. Parapat as an area hasn't got so much going for it, but there are certainly other hotels around. My advice to you, do not book this hotel. It will partially ruin your holiday.

I booked 2 rooms. I found many trouble with this hotel. When checked in security officer just instructed us to park the car in terrible car park, already ask how we will go out from this area if any car park behind our car, security answered that they know how to arrange this area. In the evening, yes ....our car can not go out from the car park and must contact all guests stay...by myself. Security already lost. Finally we walk to down town by terrible small public bus.

Breakfast only chicken noodle and fried rice.

Room is old, Hotel facilifies is old. The management must do renivation.

Benefit: fantastic view
