1) My regret in this trip was that I did not bring Wi-Fi computer but brought LAN-type computer. Not only my room but also my collegue’s room, we could not use internet. There was a LAN hole in the rooms but it might not connect to internet.
2) I had to use business centre’s computer paying Rp. 20,000 per hour. Hungry mosquitoes were waiting. I was bitten more than 10 places by the mosquitoes in one hour.

Its location is quite central, but Padang's development seems to be away from this area, focused more along the coastal area. Hence, there are not many eateries and entertainment outlets nearby (only the old central market within walking distance). In terms of the hotel facilities, they are quite adequate. Good breakfast spread but the service starts only from 7.00 am, so you will definitely miss it if you depart for early morning flights.

Spent 1 night there in transit to Mentawai islands. Forget trying to sleep in rooms on the street side. My non-smoking room was full of stale smoke when I arrived and the the bathroom sink was blocked. The window curtain was half hanging and I had to hold it against the window with a chair. Doors where banging all night with arriving or departing guests. Slept 2 hours and happy to get away from the place.

Average hotel but clean. we stayed there for 2 nights. The rooms were ok. Only the shower head was not functioning properly. Other than that our sleep was pleasant. Breakfast was ok. The hotel wifi cannot be connected most of the time. Frustrated sometimes when you have limited time to check important mails etc. The staffs are friendly. Just beside the hotel is KFC.

We are happy with the hotel and room condition. We stayed here for 3 nights. Breakfast spread was not bad either. Variety TV channels. Room was well maintained. Air-con also worked well. The bathroom was alright too. The hotel is located nearby a fast food chain - Kentucky Fried Chicken. 10 mins walk to market which sells all sort of products. Staff were friendly and helpful too. However there was no wi-fi connection.

Room Tip: Choose higher floor for the scenery.

We checked in at Axana on our 1st and last night and we loved the new modern feeling the hotel gives. Check in was also a breeze. Staff was experienced and expedited our check in knowing that we were all exhausted at 1am. The pillows were thick and fluffy and each room came with 2 additional pillows. We were in heaven and didn´t want to wake up. The amenities set was also cute! My kids were happy that there were a lot of English channels and even Disney. The only thing that bugged us was the fact that it took a long time to cool the room down. No matter what mode i changed the remote to, it always ended up the same 27 degrees which was ridiculous! The hotel corridor was colder than our rooms! Breakfast was also satisfactory. Not as fabulous as some other Indonesian hotels we´ve stayed in but we were happy except for the margerine they used! Older hotels used butter and a new one like Axana uses margerine? Come on! I´ve heard spooky stories about this hotel as this building was built over the collapsed hotel during the earthquake. Many people died that day on that spot so we were quite apprehensive. Thank goodness we had no experience with the third kind!

Where should i begin.

1) We reserved 4 rooms for 8 of us. When we first arrived at 4.30pm, we were told the rooms were not ready as the bath towels are not ready.

2) we requested for a high floor and were checked into the fifth floor which didn't seem fully operational. 2 of the rooms didn't have a fridge. 2 of the rooms had dirty bed linen. My room had a stained towel that looks old.

3) 1 of the rooms had it worst. It was hot and we could not adjust the thermostat. When we inform the staff, they suggest to solve the problem with a standing fan. We did that but the fan was not blowing cool air since the temperature in the room was high, 28/29 degrees. That room door also look unfinished with missing parts.

4) the common corridor and walkway was humid with no aircon nor ventilation

5) the breakfast was not good and they ran out of eggs half way through breakfast service

6) the massage that was arranged through the hotel was messed up. The masseurs got the timing wrong and were late to come to our rooms. Though we asked for 1-hour massage, some only got 40 mins of it but were charged full price

7) wifi was down several times in the 2 nights that we were there

8) no bath mat was given though we asked for them

The positive side of things:

1) majority of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the bell boy and zetna and some of the front desk staff

2) location was convenient. Could walk to the beach for a beautiful sunset and seafood dinner

3) cable tv was good

Room Tip: Do not take rooms on fifth floor. The hotel doesn't have a fourth floor so choose rooms on 3rd f...
