One of the most consistent surf locations on the West Sumatra coast. Sand bottom slopes gently out over banks that kick up fast peeling waves. Can hold up to head high then gets to be hard work. Almost always off shore in the mornings till 10 am and many evenings as well. The water is a bit muddy near the edge but gets cleaner as you paddle out. This is the ideal spot for surfers to learn and get fit before they try some of the regions more challenging surf. The locals are trying hard to keep the beach clean but there is a river near-by and when it rains a lot of plastic washes out. Lets hope the local Govt will encourage people to recycle plastic and not throw it in rivers.
