I visit this temple or vihara, as suggested by some review, to visit the oldest vihara/temple at Bandar Lampung. I came with online ojek, and meet very nice old man and maybe the temple clerk or staff. They told me about history of the temple, and Buddhism in Bandar Lampung. This temple was constructed by Po Heng in 1850, after the massive eruption of Krakatoa. The temple is the largest Chinese temple in Lampung. I got permit to take some pictures of the temple (Y)

This is one of the landmark in Bandar Lampung that you may want to visit. This is the place where you wanted to see the chinese culture in the area. Yes temples are always affiliated with Chinese people in Indonesia.

The outer building Architectural is kept like that since around 100 years ago, but unfortunately due to their cosmetic repair on the whole temple, they lost it's original charm where they put ceramics at the wall for easier maintenance, it use to be walls painted red. I grew up in this town, so i know that detail.

If you are a lucky traveller, you may bump into one of the celebration so they dress up and you see more people.

I think you will look weird and improper if you bring your camera to flash here and there, maybe if you want to take some pictures, it is best to ask permission to the clerk that works there.

Great Place for Buddhist. It will get crowded when the Waisak Day, and Chinese New Year (SinCe). There will be the firework activities at 12 am whenever an event is held. I am a buddhist, and I pray there.
