“The Sedona Manado is a delight!”
Reviewed August 14, 2009

We organized a small conference at the Sedona in May 2009 and I personally stayed there for 2 weeks. The whole experience was fantastic! Wayan, the GM, went out of his way to be helpful, as did all the staff, in all aspects. The chefs turned out great and very varied food throughout. The setting is really lovely - volcanos (fortunately extinct!) overlooking the site, coconut groves, right on the beach, stunning lookout to the offshore islands and rooms with great views. Also very quiet and peaceful. Paradise!

The hotel has gorgeous lawn and view. As soon as you walk in through the open air lobby and coffe shop, you will see the lawn with coconut trees, huge pool, the ocean, and a view of the Manado Tua and Bunaken Island. The Manado Tua island looks like a Mountain rising from the Sea when viewed from the Hotel side. The room is big and I believe every room has a balcony as well. The sunset view from the hotel is spectacular.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the hotel service and facilities. The only negative thing I could say is that the towel and bed sheets were not plush unlike ones that you expect to find in a 5 star resort.

Stayed at the Sedona over Xmas and New Years. Quite nice hotel which is still struggling with the aftermaths of the '98 crisis as one complete wing is not open yet...
Rooms typical hotel resort type, nothing special. Staff friendly. Food booooring. Problem is that there is no other restaurant to walk to. If you want to eat outside the hotel you need to take a taxi.
Dive Centre is ok. Diving around Bunaken Marine Park is supposed to be one of the best in S.E. Asia but I have to say I was rather disappointed. Yes, there are great wall dive spots but the water is quite dirty and the place on Bunaken Island where they brought us for lunch is disgustingly filthy with trash. Never seen anything like it!

I stayed at Sedona with my wife and parents in Christmas 2008. The place is quite big, with extensive lawns and a swimming pool area, plus a couple of hundred of meters of seashore, with a building that houses a diving company.
The entrance hall is big, nicely decorated, and there is other ample space with a bar, snooker table, table tennis, and a restaurant (+ additional rooms, in which a Christmas dinner was served.) Most of the areas are "outside" in the sense that the temperature & humidity are ambient, but there is also an air-conditioned room associated with the bar for those who prefer +22 C to the outside +26..+32 C.
The rooms are nice and clean, with good air-conditioning. However, the first room we got had a leak in toilet's water tank, but we requested and got another room with better views and no plumbing issues.
A very good breakfast was available in the restaurant every morning. We also had lunch and dinner there, and the food was quite good.
The only issue we had was related to the snorkeling trip we made on Boxing day. We visited the diving company next to the hotel to enquire about the trip, and were asked to confirm our booking at the hotel reception in the evening. Instead of making the confirmation, the staff booked us to the hotel's own shorter and more expensive trip in a ridiciluously small boat. When we noticed this right before the departure, we cancelled the trip and fortunately still managed to sneak in to the diving company's very nice trip.
