I travelled with my family to Bintan from Singapore whilst on business for a long weekend. Our first impression was very positive. The premises are emaculately kept and the design is lovely. The entrance is exceptional and very welcoming. At reception, once leaving the bus from the ferry port, we were greated with a cool drink and asked to be seated. Check in was smooth and uneventful. The design of the premises allows all rooms to have views of the pool and beach. We were on the end of the second floor which was quite a walk down. The pool is lovely and the games room was a bonus. The beach is a next to the property line, very useful. All staff were very polite, without exception. Friday night was BBQ night outside, food that night was varied and all very good. Saturday night there was a film outside - excellent idea. Breakfast was good, selection was generally good. Only downside was the menu for lunch and dinner, which was the same and didn't offer a wide (or indeed interesting) selection. We all used the Spa. That was the highlight for us. Spa facilities were top notch and the environment just boosted the experience.

Check-in was fast & efficient.
Room was clean & within expectation as a Suite.
Pool was great especially for the kids.
Restaurants was average as one in the resort while the other near the beach.
When it rains, beach restaurant will have a problem...
Overall, very good experience with family.

Terrible experience at Angsana Bintan, not living up to the promise of "Luxury 5-star resort', more like a 3-star chalet. The rooms are dilapilated and of poor finishing, air-con barely cold, ceiling-fan creaky and shaky. Food at the 2 restaurants are of sub-par quality, especially for that kind of price. The adjacent Banyan Tree restaurants serve excellent food, at almost similar pricing. The spa is fully booked during my entire stay, though i hardly see many other guests around, as its lull period. The pool is boring, to the point of being pathetic, definitely not if u're looking for some good fun with family.... Worst of all, this place is not exactly cheap!!! The big brand-names like Hyatt or Marriot should open up a resort in Bintan to give Angsana a run for their money. i'd much rather go stay at Sentosa for maybe 20% more pricey rooms, but enjoy much better quality of food, activities and entertainment.

It was way to expencive compare to other resorts in the Island. Everything about this place was terrible, service absolutely horrible, food average but the price they charge is outrages. The worst thing was they charge you in USD what a rip off.
They pretend to be good hotel -anything but.
And the place next door Banyang tree it was the same. We had lunch there it was terrible service and food as well.
Like they share the same staff.
Been in Bintan 6 times and this place made me almost hate the Island but cause i know how good it is i the other resorts i will go back but never in this horrible placve Angsana-Banyan tree resorts. They were foggig at 12pm while everyone is sound a sleep, what a joke.
Whatever you do please avoid this place at any cost.

Me and my girlfriend went to Bintan Island, Indonesia as part of our trip to Singapore for our summer vacation. Since we mainly went to the island for the relaxing atmosphere and sandy beaches, we didn't expect for such a satisfying experience full of activities and great memories.

The team running Angsana Bintan took such good care of us, we really didn't have to worry about anything, just enjoy the amazing options the island had to offer. From water activities to the luxurious spa, golf all terrain vehicles (ATV) and water jet-ski rides we really felt sorry we only scheduled 3 days of our vacation in the island.

The Angsana front desk also took care of all the reservations we needed at the various restaurants and attractions like the elephant show (which we didn't get to see because there is now show on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) or the Mangrove tour in the island, we really didn't have a single worry in our minds.

The only point which actually can't be considered as a negative point is the remote location of the resort. The Angsana Bintan (and the resorts surrounding it) have a lot to offer, but if you like to go sightseeing or enjoy cultural attractions then you will have to spend some time in a taxi, possibly with a driver that doesn't fully understand what you want.

I would recommend the Angsana Bintan resort and Bintan Island in general for anyone who looks for a relaxing yet fun escape in a beautiful, exotic location.
I doubt I'll be able to plan a better vacation next year!

The staff greet you with warmth once you enter their premises. Throughout the whole 3 days stay, every staff greet you by your first name, like a dear friend. Even when they walk past you going about their routine, they will smile and greet you. Very warm and I love the service. The spa was wonderful. I got a big outdoor room facing the sea. The massage I got was one of the best I have ever had. And I get a lot of massages all over Asia. Will want to return again.

The hotel location is really nice and the beach is simply beautiful. The service is of great quality, however, the rooms are really need to be entirely renovated. I have tried 2 rooms, a deluxe double and a suite: both are poorly designed, way too small and the choice of furniture lacks taste. In addition, theses furnitures are old and stained.
The second serious problem is with food: like all resorts in Bintan it is expensive; but at Angsana, even a simple Nasi Goreng or Sambal Sotong has no taste! Any hawker center in Singapore can cook better for 1/20 of the price. I am also amazed that the orange juice at the breakfast is not a freshly squeezed one.

In summary, given the price and standing of this hotel, there are very many things that could be improved in terms of room quality and food service.

Room Tip: Rooms on the last floor are the best since there is no sound proofing at all
