I've stayed with them 2 or 3 times over the past years. Mangement and staff are friendly & sincere. Place is rustic, clean, relaxing and quiet. Everything i needed for a nice slipaway from my dreaded work back home. Food is always good, one of the main reasons why i always return.
This kelong is slightly different from the rest of the kelongs. They stand out by offering private rooms with attached bathrooms for guests and the place is exclusively yours when you book it, you wont find any other guests on the kelong. This kelong is way cleaner than all the kelongs i've visited so far. Kelong is not huge though, but good enough for my groups. Dont forget to try their massages as well..greatly compliments the stay there.
There was once when i had only 5 pax in my group but then i contacted them anyway to see if they were able to slot us in with other groups. They did slot us with another group that didnt mind us sharing the kelong with them, but we had to change our departure dates to suit theirs as they were a bigger group..but that worked out fine in the end.
Previously it was all by word of mouth, now they have a webby, which is great. I would definetly suggest going on weekdays to avoid the crowds at immigration. My australian friends came along with us the previous time, and they needed Visa on arrival, which was relatively easy. Check if your group needs visa. The Aussies mentioned that the water lodge provides a v.good short escape for tourists who are travelling Singapore/ the region.
This is definetly a place where time stands still, where you go to get away from the highly strung citylife. Two thumbs up!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Just 2 hours away from Singapore, guests will get to enjoy the solitude, the lack of communication access, the separation from the modern world and the only sounds are that of the gentle wind blowing, the lapping of the waves and the flapping of the canvases that are tied to the kelong stilts. ... more less
