Firstly, do this only if you have
1. Arranged a driver for 1 day. (It's about 45mins drive subject to traffic from Batam City)
2. Want a different cultural view of actual Batam locals.
For me, I did and I don't regret.
a) The bridge is spectacular and a magnificent piece of architecture.
But incomplete? What a pity.
b) On the bridge there were street hawkers and the locals would gawk at foreigners looking lost at this part of town.
Tip: Try the local "Rujak" (see my pictures) and it is absolutely delicious. We tried ours at a hawker stall names "Gendut Rujak". He speaks a little English and you will appreciate his 'showmanship' when making the dish.
PS: Do cross the bridge and have dinner at one of the local seafood restaurants. Cheap crabs!
