The natives live here and grow heaps of delicious fishes-red snappers, groupas,etc/cray fish/mudbugs and other seafood. They are freshly harvested to prepare the dishes. Pepper fried mudbugs, cray fish and chilli crabs were the best alongwith fresh green salads. If you stay at Mercure Batam, you will be lucky to meet Putri at the Reception. Her husband Matthew(Thew) can arrange for the trip as this place is about 45mins ride fron Batam Centre. The Cray fish and mudbugs were much better than available at Golden Prawns and they are cooked to a much better taste at Cita Rasa. The great seafood for 4 could cost less than S$ 80.Enjoy the very best of Batam. You can go and choose what you want and they will be cooked for you in less than 20mins. Do take some mosquito repellent with you if you are paranoid with insects, although the staff there lit some insect repellent candles to keep them away.
