For a European, looking at the map, you see Surabaya as a small dot in the East Java. Please mind that this is the second largest city of Indonesia, so when thinking of a population of some Europe countries put together, you will have a different perspective. I made this comment more for the first time travellers to this part of the world. Shangri-La in Surabaya is almost the best you can get in a big industrial city of this country. The building and amneties are just a bit rusty, but the service and the food are impecable. Airport transfers are available as well as arrangements formalmost anything you need in the city.
Good value for the money.More
