Stunningly well maintained and a devoted loyalty to the original architecture. Garden which one may suspect has been manicured with a nail clipper makes this hotel worth a visit in its own right. Check in by very efficient service oriented staff and you were soon on your way to your room. Room decor true to the colonial style includes bathroom fittings and utilities. Superb bed and plenty of pillows ensures you will find what you like. Great workspace good sitting arrangement, minibar and coffee making facilities as well.
Breakfast was splendid be it Asian or European it was easy to find what you could reasonably ask for. Staff througout is an asset of the hotel and they look like they enjoy their job, always a smile and offer to assist or help in any way.
Should want that drink or pint then The Maj is a nice pub within the hotel and again the staff there is just there to make sure you have a cozy time.
Was indeed an experience which really makes you want to come back just to experience the tranquility of the hotel. Perhaps not so surprising when it is the Sarkie brothers behind the scene (Raffles - Singapore, The Strand - Penang Malaysia)

Room Tip: I got an Executive Suite at the very back of the hotel, nice and quite except for the prayer time but nothing to loud. if you get to this very nice backside and need to work try to get a room below 39 ie from 30 - 36 as I suspect the wi-fi is better there as they are closer tpo the acess point I spottet in a tree. In my room it was bit slow.

This is a beautiful, luxurious hotel. The gardens throughout the hotel are gorgeous and well maintained. The swimming pool is large, including a small pool for children. There's also poolside service available. One of the greatest assets of this hotel is the staff. They are genuinely friendly and very customer-focused; from the desk clerk to man sweeping the walks. The spa at the hotel is fabulous and the price is very reasonable. The food in the Indgo Restaurant was wonderful, reasonable and exceptional service. This is right in the center of town and within walking distance of a very large mall. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable. Once inside this hotel, you'd never realize you were in the middle of a noisy, bustling city.

Room Tip: We had a lovely suite with a balcony that overlooked the gardens. We were able to upgrade for only $25 more a night. I believe it wad well worth it.

A hotel indeed worthy of the high praise lauded on it. On top of the historical significance and architectural merits the hotel is practical in a modern sense. The city centre location means that the Tunjungan Shopping Centre(s) are but a short walk away.

Beware the corridors after heavy rain - they are lethal!

Otherwise many thanks to all the staff who helped make the stay a delight. This included those who assisted with the 4.00 check out and breakfast boxes.

We'll be back.

In a wonderful setting, tropical gardens, colonial style buildings and furnitures hundres of nice rooms with balcony and garden view. Polite and service oriented employees.
Right in the City center, few minutes walking from great malls.

Room Tip: Make a reservation through internet. The reception insisted too much on proposing room change with a little difference to pay. We resisted stubbornly.

This hotel is in a very nice manner much different from those international "plastic hotels", we know from world wide travelling.
The hotel is stylish but still modern, clean and with the best functioning "Spa", fitness and pool area I ever met in Indonesia.
The Majapahit Hotel is like an "Oasis" within the hot an crowded city of Surabaya.
Every morning begun with an outstanding breakfast that gives power for the day.

Room Tip: Room in the middle, near to the Spa and Fitness area with a look on the inner lawn area
