“One of the best landmark in Surabaya”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

the bridge opened to public around 2009 and connecting the two big island Java and Madura. It took about 5-6 years to build and about 6 km long. Prior to this bridge, people used ferry to cross the Madura Bay which too around 30 mins to cross comparing to 5-10mins by bridge.

The scenery is towards the Surabaya port Tanjung Perak and NAVY base plus all the harbor activities. Also a giant 20m statue of Four Faced Buddha and a seaview temple of Kwan Im Goddess. As to the Madura side, we won't see any interesting views as it still an empty land except hundreds tents of local food hawkers. Very messy but locals like it stopping by there as the unofficial rest area.

“Amazing drive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2014

Actually, I love Madura, but the bridge over to the island is located right from the city of Surabaya. The view is spectacular from it and you leave the congested city and end up in the very relaxed island of Madura where you will meet nothing but smiles.

“Nice view at night”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2014

I went crossing this bridge on the way to try the famous Madurese Duck. Most of the reviewers are right. The light is amazing at night. It also can get very windy, so drive slowly. Also on the plus side, lots of souvenir stalls next to the highway after the bridge, so definitely must visit.
