Soga Resto and Lounge is located in the same area as Museum Batik Danar Hadi. It was establish in 2010. Before that, the area used as kitchen to prepared meal for the batik workers. I had dinner there with my husband and son. Then we come back the next day to have a drink and Apple Strudels while waiting for the museum to open. We loooove this place.. They have antiques wooden furnitures, make the room feels so fancy and elegant. The food was great and the waiters was very polite.

Lovely surroundings and a great location in the grounds of the Danar Hadi Museum. Food is elegantly presented, a good range of dishes and reasonable prices. Good service. No alcohol served

An excellent restaurant in Solo, right next to the Museum Batik Danar Hadi and owned by the same people. Mainly Dutch colonial Indonesian style décor but good quality and some very nice pieces of furniture and artefacts. As you would expect also some very nice large pieces of batik on display. A very elegant restaurant. Not only elegant but a very historic building in Solo and some significant local events have taken place here. Beyond the restaurant room are other areas, some used for 'outside' dining as well including a section obviously used for buffets – maybe for groups. There is also a larger impressive Pavilion 'next door' which is used for larger events and special celebrations and is the main picture they use in promotional material.
A very good choice on the menu with a lot of classic local dishes from this part of Java as well as other Indonesian dishes. A few Western dishes too but this is not really the place if you just want a pizza or a hamburger. Not only an excellent menu choice but also beautiful presentation and very tasty. I have previously lived in this part of the world for more than a decade and can confirm that the tastes were pretty authentic. Good sized portions too but not excessive. Don't have a favourite main course (5 different as 5 of us) as they were all very good. Desserts though were not as good as the main courses. Very nicely presented but flavours more muted. Fried bananas was the best dessert! Good choice of non-alcoholic drinks too – also alcoholic choices if you wanted.
Service was friendly and good and mainly efficient though as we were the only people there on a Friday lunchtime can't say how they would be if they were busy. Food was a bit slow coming but as it seemed there was only 1 chef on duty that is not surprising. Prices were not cheap but about what you would expect in Indonesia for a quality restaurant. Plenty of parking outside – for both the Museum/Shop and the restaurant.
An excellent meal and we would have absolutely no hesitation at all in recommending the Soga.

Loved the decor, but the taste of food and the drink was not as great as the interior decor. The food took too long to come.

We loved it, the food, atmosphere, batik mueseum, it is a fantastic stop. Definately try the Eis Jeruk Cincau, it was very refreshing and good to the last drop!!
