Well.... this is not natural cave but man made caves as part of ancient water palace for Sultans of Cirebon.

It is not a big complex but it is interesting to imagine how Sultan spent his time doing meditation in this complex.

Sunyaragi consists of a series of caves most likely used for meditation by members of the royal family. They are fascinating to walk through but you need your imagination to see the site as it once would have been, surrounded by pools of water to resemble fabled mountains rising out of the sea (today only the empty basins remain). Our local guide was good but had only a very basic knowledge of the historical nature of the site. In fact, we were told than a Siva Linga and the accompanying yoni were used in ancient times for making shrimp paste! Today, the site is a popular destination for families and young courting couples but if you can see past that and let your mind roam 1000 years or so back to pre-Islamic days, you will discover that you are actually in one of Southeast Asia's most ancient royal gardens.
