“Taman fruit, without the fruit ”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2014 via mobile

Visited Taman Buah Mekarsari with my family, based on local friend's recommendations about how interesting the tour was, getting to stop often, learn about how various local fruits are grown, and pick and try some. My kids were very excited.

However, the park has recently "relaunched" and, although everything has a new coat of paint and the day there was pleasant enough, the tour now included no stops (it's just a drive to the lake with some commentary) and there is almost no actual fruit to be seen or sampled, beyond a very small selection of plastic-wrapped fruit at the exit. Very disappointing. It is a nice park though, and I would return and being my friends if they brought back the fruit tours.

The drive between the toll road and the park (via Cibubur or Gn. Putri) was just terrible.

“Visit to Mekarsari”

Visited Taman Buah Mekarsari with my family and had a great time. Mekarsari is an agrocultural theme park where we can learn about growing plants and fruits. You can try their outbond too it's quite cool. Take tour packages that ranges between 35,000 Rupiahs-98,000 Rupiahs per person, it would be cheaper.

“an alternative for outdoor activity (a bit off) Jakarta”

a nice temporary getaway...if you are into botanical things, tropical fruits and stuffs they have quite interesting collection, the tour for fruit is worth to see...Square watermelon and star shapes :D
they provided some "country live attraction" ; bathing cows, feeding them, planting rice and so on
the mekar sari main attraction it self is just a huge field with places for people to sitdown and relax, little picnic and stuffs, but carfull in weekends, u'll findurself suddenly among all the "corporate" visitors with their outing and loud musics...worst problem..they like to LITTER !! Mental people...mental...
oww..other thing, they have nice tree house to spend night there...quite fun...they provide camping site as well...havent tried that..

oh..if you are planning to visit, before you reach mekar sari, just right befor Giant supermarket, theres a tapanuli restaurant serving indonesian tapanuli and melayu food..very nice cook and most importantly Clean....
