“Green, wide, and cheap”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

Ticket price to get in this place are very cheap for local people, but 10 times costly for foreigner. It was build by holand back then, and become one of the place with historical value on it and maintaned by government. They have so many plants variety on their collection, so it would be good if u travelled with childrens, so they could learn a lot. For me, i just love the beautifull scenery they got. And how it linked to other museum around the area.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

This botanical garden (kebun raya) location is in the middle of bogor city so to reach this place is easy just hail public vehicle, local call it angkot almost every angkot passing this place. The garden it self contain many old tree literaly a hundreds year old from the era of Raffles as Governor of Java even his wife burried in here. if you lucky enough you can see a rare flower that called corpse flower blooming. (bunga bangkai) it smells like dead body. Don't go at weekend bcause the place will packed with many visitors local and tourist. the entry tickets it self is very cheap.

“Beautiful sightseeing and relaxing with your family n friends”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

It is better to go there with your family..especially your children..they can learn about many kind of trees also playing, enjoying the view there. Fresh air and quite relaxing..you can see the presidential palace, trees, until animals like deers :D
Its quite busy n hectic during school holiday..there r many children with their parents of course :) or you can just hanging around walking the garden n lake.
Sometimes we need to rest our mind for a while from our daily activity..:P
Remember to bring your hat, glasses or umbrella.. if you cant stand the heat..n dont forget to bring snacks n drinks..:D but dont trash anywhere, keep clean ya all..^^,)

“Nice place to escape from busy days and heavy traffic”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Being grown up in bogor, things that keep on calling me back is this place . You need to have a good sneakers to walk around the area, and take leisure walk inside. There are plenty of places inside to take a rest, where time seems to stop . Old trees, well kept walking path,....nice place to relax.

“Great escape from Jakarta but there are some issues........”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

The gardens are beautiful, and the Orchid House is well maintained. The gardens are only about one hour from Jakarta if you go on a weekday. Unfortunately, there was a considerable amount of rubbish throughout the facility and something should be done about the many feral cats. They are a nuisance and probably keep some birds away. We also noticed that many bike riders carelessly ride their bikes very quickly throughout the park. It is also VERY IMPORTANT to point out that the gift shop sells some great items like orchids and plants, but it also sells a strange collection of DVDs that promote racism and intolerance. I do not know if the garden is self-financed, financed by the government, financed by private donations or a combination of all three funding streams. Foreigners have to pay twice the amount to get in which does not bother me but the inappropriate DVDs in the gift shop were way out of line.
