“Camping Ground in Sari Ater”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2014

The main reason I tried the camping ground in Sari Ater, because it provided decent facilities and I wanted to give a new experiences for my children. since there are so many things to tell I will make it concise.

The Pros :
1. The facilities was very complete for the whole Sari Ater complex as a resort for the family.
2. The fresh and cool weather around was refreshing.
3. The tent was used was very descent, even though the outside weather was very cold, but inside the tent was warm and comfortable.
4. Friendly and helpful staffs.
5. Clean, well maintained landscape with beautiful views.
6. Well equipped amenities even inside the room.
7. Variety of Food and Beverage outlets inside the compounds.
8. The hot water spring pool inside the compounds.

The Cons :
1. The poor and terrible reservation/ booking systems. I had to call more than 20 times, even though I already made a full payment, to get a confirmation. If one staff had confirmed my book, the other staff would said it was not confirmed yet. I happened for the last 2 weeks before I came. I just needed to be sure, since the location was not sure. And the reservation staffs was not helpful at all.
2. Couldn't sleep at night. I didn't know should I be grateful or complaining about this. The location of the tents were adjacent to the river. The thundering noise of the water was terrible, as if it was storm raining.
3. Make sure your bring a lot of cash. The restaurants put too high minimum limits for the credit card usage, even higher than the places in big cities.
4. Over priced food prices, almost the same as the 4 stars hotel prices.
5. The very rocky and bumpy road to the camping ground location, even though the management provided the shuttle vehicle from the camping ground to the main facilities complex vice versa, but still we had to bring the car the the camping ground for the safety issues.

My pros and cons are for the considerations only, it everything was fine for you, it is worth trying. As I found out that I was very lucky since during the weekend and holiday season this place would be packed crowded like tunas in can.

One thing special in this resort is the natural hot spring's pool. We could soaking in the pool anytime, the best time is at night. so many benefit of this healing waters, eliminate aches, skin diseases, nervous system launched, etc. This place have a cool weather, beautiful scenery, many activities for kids.

usually, we have a suite bungalow room, it has 2 rooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, parking lot, this bungalow could be accommodate until 20 persons :D. It will be more economic if we join the membership (if frequently visit). for kids, it would be interesting because there were so much activities could do, riding the horse in the morning is the best one. pools Nangka is our favorite, because it's near with restaurant and our room. The breakfast was good, eastern and western food.

Room Tip: For Bungalow, ask room near with Nangka Pool.

We stayed one night in this resort and really enjoyed the hotel hot springs pool. we stayed in the budget cabins (Adats) which provided adequate accommodation at a reasonable price for this resort. But even though it was a budget cabin we paid enough to expect hot water ( a mystery that a hotel on a natural hot springs cannot offer a hot shower in the cabin) and a couple of chairs and / or an old couch would have been nice. The restaurant is very classy with a huge selection for breakfast buffet and overlooks the pool. The free admission to the adjacent resort was nice with great natural hotspring waterfalls. If I returned I might explore neighbouring hotels and resorts for better accommodations for the price.

Room Tip: If you can afford it stay in one of the more upscale cabins . but with 6 people our choices were lim...

I visited this place to experience hot spring. One must stay at this hotel to experience the hot spring. It was an excellent experience. Location, food, swimming pool with the water of hot spring, everything was very memorable.

Don't expect too much as Bandung and its nearby attractions are mainly patronized by locals and folks escaping Jakarta for a break. Also Western tourists are far and few in between. So don't expect "international class" service or facilities. Nonetheless, it was a fairly decent resort. Packed with activities and the staff are very friendly and helpful, always ready to lend a hand.

It's not fancy and rooms are a bit worn and tired. Hot water comes and goes. But for the price and activities, you can't complain!

Food is excellent. Decent spread. The natural hot springs pools (cos they're close to volcanoes) are fabulous and rejuvenating – especially at night when the temperature can drop to 19ºC.

Activities range from strawberry picking, horseback riding, ATV rides, paintball, ... (yes, they also cater for corporate getaways.)

Great place if u have kids who can only stay so long in the sulphur pools.

Had fun. And will return.

Room Tip: Deluxe balcony rooms or above. The basic rooms don't come with air conditioning – cool air? – or...

Went to the hotel as part of the plan to visit Kawah Ratu at Tangkuban Perahu. The crater was closed, so we drove ahead to the hotel instead. The place is very very popular with the locals, so please take this into considerations as it will be quite crowded during the weekends and also public holidays.

The hotel is a 3 stars at most, comfy, and that's about it. We went and had dinner at the Kimanis restaurant, where you can take a dip in the hot springs and then have dinner at the side of the pool. The kids enjoyed, and us adult just cant complain about that!

Please note that the water supply at the hotel comes from the springs in area, and volcanic soil has a lot of sulfuric smell and taste to it. It might be good for your skins, but not all eyes will like that.
