“Pleasant stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2012

Stayed here for two nights. Hotel is very pleasant, nicely decorated, friendly staff. Rooms are modern and clean. Paris van Java just a short walk away (although the sidewalks are in a very bad state). The only negative point for the Sukajadi at the moment is the breakfast, the restaurant is being renovated so breakfast was served in one of the function rooms and the quality of the food there was just OK.

On Sat, 28 April 2012, this was my first trip to Bandung. Since my friends (2 others) and I were not familiar to the hotel, we had arranged for a pick-up by the hotel from the airport. Do note this cost $110,000 rupiah. It is only 15 minutes drive from the airport to the hotel. Due to weekend and peak hours (arrived Bandung ard 4pm), the road leading to the hotel has been closed and we had to detour. We arrived at the hotel around 7 p.m IND time later!! Along the way, the hotel driver asked about our itinerary and had tried his best to convince us to take up his service to chaufeur us around. We told him that we would inform the Reception counter should we decide to take their service.

Our room was on the 7 floor of the new wing. Room is clean and tidy. Amenities is very basic (coffee/tea making, shower cap, toothbrush & paste. That's it!) However, we find the room is not well-lit. Not sure if there is any fire exit in the room! Chambermaids were courteous, always greet and smile when meet us.

Breakfast is extremely dissappointing. Coffee were diluted, no cereals, just bread. Not variety of selection.

We asked the reception about the nearest shopping mall. Was told that in less than 10 mins walk from the hotel was Paris Van Java. We walked and found that PVJ was not appealling to us. Next to the hotel is massage place Zen, just 2 door away from the right side of the hotel.

The next morning, after our dissappointed breakfast we approached the Reception for direction to Pasar Baru. The lady staff was not very happy to serve us and her facial expression clearly showed that she was agitated by us asking her few questions. She gave comment such as "Bandung selalu 'macek' " that translates into "traffic in Bandung is always congested, so...what you want me to do?"

On our taxi ride to Pasar Baru, by meter from the hotel were R20,000. We discovered and were shocked that from hotel to airport was around R20,000 but we were charged at R110,000! There goes......So we decided to "hijack" this taxi driver to chaufeur us instead. We had arranged for him to pick us up at night to Sari Ater. He did, waited, stop us for dinner and supper all that for only R$300,000!

Room Tip: Get the last floor of the new wing. New rooms, more quieter.

It was my second stay at this hotel. After staying here last November,2011, I decided to bring my father for another stay because I loved this place very much. It is very near to Rumah Mode,Paris Van Java and most important the massage place Zen which is nearby. I will definitely come again.

I came 29th March 2012. It was a good experience 4 days and 3 nights in Sukajadi Hotel. It offers a calmness surroundings and ambiances with an excellent service from the friendly and efficient staffs working there. The staffs give us warm welcome and we feel like we're in our own country. Further more, with the location of the Hotel, it make myself at ease in finding shopping centers, spa and delicious foods.

Just as what I was looking for - traditional stay in Bandung city that offers comfort. The hotel is charming couple with friendly staff. The new part of the building has really cosy rooms and clean indeed.

Location is second to none. Very close to the most traditional Indo food, yum!

Would definitely come and stay longer next time.

Room Tip: New building has newer rooms.

I came on 21st Dec, stayed only one night with my daughter. Just for a short trip, ..
but this hotel is more than I could expect. I booked last minute through Agoda, ...

I came early, around 9am, so the room was still not ready ( it was full house). But to my surprise, the ambiance of this hotel is very calming and homey. The check in went smoothly and the staff were very friendly. I left the luggage at concierge and went to see Tangkuban Perahu Crater. I didn't have a chance to rent a car, so just decided to take my daughter to have kinda of adventure taking the public transport.

At the front of the hotel, which is jalan Sukajadi, you can hop to the local transport called Angkot to Lembang. However if you want to go to Tangkuban perahu during the wkday, there'll be no angkot to go to the top of the Crater. At lembang we just rent one Angkot to brought us up. Kinda of experience.

When we returned around 3pm, the room was ready.
we asked for Non Smoking Room, and they gave us the room in the new wing, six floor. This wing side was just finished being built 8 months ago. We got a view of mountains and beautiful sunrise.
I like the room as it was clean. It has the tea-coffe-kettle set, not much but they provide it. The programmes on TV were provided by cable TV so it's good. The shower room is clean, it didn't have shower curtain but the glass cover is sufficient to keep the water not splattered around. Need to request the hair dryer.
The toiletries are basic standard. the only problem is the water leaking from the clean water pipe of the toilet..but as it's not creating problem, I just let it be (only made the corner of the bathroom a bit wet).

The breakfast is so-so. They provide Indonesia's style buffet : steam rice, nasi goreng, fried noodle, some side dishes for the steam rice, Indonesia's chicken porridge, coffee was very very watery, the simple fruit punch and fruit juice, egg station. Over all is ok for the standard you pay.
A friend of mine came down after bfast hour was over, she bought from the menu and we love the Teh Poci taste. She ordered Nasi Bakar set which is fine and from the menu list, the food is at reasonable price. The Bandrek and Pisang Goreng Kipas were also nice. We just sat beside the pool.

Things that I love so much from this little hotel is the feeling like am staying home.
I love the decoration for Christmas as they used local craft, they decorate the hotel with lots of antiques. The pool is small and the water was very cold, I think is normal as Bandung is in the high location area. The pool is sufficient if the children just want to play with water :-)

This hotel also near to Paris Van java Mall (in case you need anything to buy back home, at Paris van java mall, it has Carrefour supermarket which sold lots of local product), nice restos, shops. Or .. if you like to go to rumah mode, just flag taxi and the ride is nothing more than 10 minutes away (as long as there's no traffic jam).

Will definitely recommend this place.
Keep up the good work, keep up the cleanness and the ambiance.

Room Tip: ask the room in the new wing, non-smoking. Is quiet. Don't as to the room in the old wing, it...

The hotel ambience is very inviting with its homely boutique hotel concept. I just love the gi day bed located at the lobby of the hotel. Feel just like home especially after tired of shopping, and there a place for you to rest and chat before proceed to the room.
Factory outlets nearby - the infamous Rumah Mode which is located at the back road of the hotel (if you want to walk...)of which i tried before with my BFF. Another factory outlet nearby or rather next door is called Rainbow. Not bad selections though it's not that grand and big...they have good branded clothes thou.
I love staying there coz its also a walking distance to the shopping mall called Paris van Java.... Good place to hang around. Lots of good restaurants, cafe, boutiques, hypermarket - Carrefour etc.
