Room is definitely spacious. Comfortable for my family of 4 (2 adults and 2 small children). Love the fact that the rooms comes with bench and sofa bed as well. Both are equally comfortable. My 9 year old son ends up sleeping on the sofa bed for 4 nights while watching TV.

A bit of a hiccup on their side cos' we had to switch room for the second night, but it's just a small matter. The moving of room was handled smoothly while we're out shopping. We just had to pack our luggage nicely for them to make the move for us.

Front desk, staff, security guards, they were all very friendly and helpful.

Location wise is just okay. There's Rumah Mode opposite, that's the only plus point. But the traffic to cross over is horrendous. But lucky for us, the motorists were accomodating most of the times and hand gestured for us to cross, maybe because we're with children.

There's supermarket on the left of the hotel, just a walking distance, and a food court above it as well.

The walkway to get there is horrible. Uneven, definitely not children friendly. Half the time while walking, I was worrying falling into the drain beside the walkway. Hahaha. But it ain't a problem for adults.

Breakfast is limited, but I'm an easy pleaser, so it's fine with me.

Travelling to other parts of Bandung is easy with cab. Just get front desk to call cab for you. Not to worry cos' they only call for Blue Bird cabs, the only reputable one.

I will definitely make a come back, but this time, without kids around.

I reviewed this hotel two years ago and I called it a gem. I just stayed in the hotel again and I wonder what happened?

Front office staff are still friendly and helpful but they speak little English. It takes a bit of patience communicating with them. Even though the hotel says wifi is free but there was no wifi in my room.

Food - this is my main grouse. Although the rooms came with free breakfast but the choice and quality were pathetic. The rice noodles looked as if they were leftovers from last night dinner. However the item which is still good was the homemade yogurt.

Perhaps the main attraction is it's location. The factory outlet, Rumah Mode is just 5 minutes from the hotel. But I think that hotel cannot sit on this laurel and forego on other amenities. Nevertheless the price of the hotel is inexpensive - 650,000 for a double room with breakfast!

Point to note: avoid the high floors facing the hotel's entrance as it can be nosy due to the traffic as well as the music from a club located opposite the hotel. And take note the hotel does not provide shampoo.

It's a decent enough hotel. Once I accepted that it's a 3 star hotel, I thought it's a rather decent place.

My comments:
1. Friendly and helpful staff - from front desk to dining to room service to security guard.
2. Location wise is great, given vicinity to rumah Mode and other FOs. Traffic can be quite mad but you can just get the nice security man to help you cross both ways.
3. Wonderful room set up. We were at 4th floor facing Rumah Mode. Bed was very comfortable.
4. Served some local snacks and coffee at teatime.
5. Air conditioning was not cool enough. Called the technician and worked fine but then went back to being warmer later.
6. Swimming pool is very small - think it's only useful for kids.
7. Buffet is nice but can be limited. It was enough for me but on a low season/tenancy, we were served ala carte.
8. Nearby has some pretty good eateries like Sederhana and food court just a short walk down. Also a decent spa that does room service (just don't tell the boss ;-))
9. Didn't feel the din as complained by others. It was lively but as noisy as I initially thought it would be based on earlier reviews.

We stayed at Asmila for 4 nights. We love the space in our room as we had our 3 young kids with us. The staff was very friendly and obliging. We didn't arrange for airport transfer on our last day there. The staff there tried hard and succeeded (it's the peak season and a weekend, so most vehicles were already rented out) to find 2 cars for us (we travelled with our friend's family).

The location was great. It's opposite Rumah Mode where we spent shopping and eating. Further down the road from Rumah Mode is the Sederhana Nasi Padang Restaurant which sells Indonesian cuisine rijsttafle style (just pay for the dishes u touched/eat) . On the right of Asmila, about 6 min-walk away is the newly-opened Outlive store which sells outdoor adventure stuff (the staff were very friendly and helpful there.)

The toilet in our room need some maintenance (choked shower area, leaking tap, broken tap holder) but our friend's room was ok. Fortunately, housekeeping came promptly when we called and the problems were fixed. The towels looked old and grey. The cushions looked like they have not been changed for a month based on the stains we saw. Some might be put off by it but we decided to just close one eye.

The pool was rather small but the kids had fun anyway. The breakfast spread was average, but the staff was very polite and helpful. If you want more variety, the food court is right opposite at Rumah Mode.

Will definitely return to this hotel if we ever return to Bandung.

Room Tip: Choose a room that is not facing the main road.
