I had high expectations of Fashion Pasta based on the reviews here on TripAdvisor. What was supposed to be a special birthday dinner left me disappointed and IDR 800,000 poorer - by far the most I have spent on a meal for two in Indonesia.
Pros: romantic garden setting, nice views, bruschetta (not great by any standard, but passable).
Cons: not authentic Italian food, small portions, overpriced.
If you've had authentic Italian food before, go past Fashion Pasta. There was no sign of the supposed Italian owner and chef as other reviews have stated, and the food reflected this. As someone who's had Italian food all over the world (Italy, Australia, Japan, America) the ingredients and flavours presented here are simply not in the same league. The truffle pasta was extremely small and lacked real truffle flavour, what was promised to be Italian 'proscuitto' resembled (and tasted like) Spam, and the panna cotta tasted so strongly of UHT milk to the point of being inedible.
If you're in Bandung and want a good meal, look elsewhere - there's lots to choose from! If you're travelling in Indonesia and you're craving good Italian food try MadeInItaly in Flores, or PEPeNERO in Jakarta and Bali.
