“To far away from colonial district”
Reviewed May 9, 2014

The Amaris is a nice hotel which offers clean and comfortable rooms. The reception is helpful and the location is pretty good. Next to jeans street and some good malls and restaurant. It's a bit far away from the old colonial part of town that's centered around the beautiful train station. So if you are coming to Bandung for that, a closer hotel is advisable. It saves you a taxi ride from the hotel.

As part of Amaris Hotel chain, the room is identical to other Amaris hotel. Since I had stayed at Amaris Juanda few days earlier, the only complain is that unlike Juanda, there is no water pipe in the bathroom. The best thing about this hotel line Juanda is the location. It's in right at Cihampelas street, a street in Bandung that is famous for cheap clothing and jeans stores. Also Cihampelas Walk (Ciwalk) is nearby. However, it is not a good location for anybody looking for shopping spree visit at Pasar Baru since it is quite far from Pasar Baru and with traffic jam everyday, it can be can tiring.

I recomended you to stay there, if you have some business trip at Bandung (at the city of Bandung, not at Cibiru or other part of Bandung). Like if you have some seminar, trainning/ workshop trip with some limited budget

400k Rupiah with some benefits:
* free fasilities: breakfast (changing menu when i stay 3 days), 2 mineral water (everyday), internet (100-200kbps), towel, soap, sampoo, tootbrush,
* in radius 100m there so many 'foodtruck', like: nasi goreng, nasi ayam
* in radius 100m there a minimarket (24 hours): we can find some snack, coffee
* in radius 250m there a mall: we can find kfc and some others modern food
* a desk for work, we can work using the internet wifi
* there are 2 power panel
* no chip key, so we can took any card at the keycard, and we can still 'downloading' when go out
* friendly roomboy

negatif:
* no water heater
* toilet with modern type, it a panel you can touch and it will watering your .....
* always full, so booked first; and when we arrive to the hotel, we must pay full

Room Tip: 222 and 223, with a view of the SMU

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's in right at Cihampelas, a street in Bandung that is famous for cheap clothing and jeans stores. It's always comforting if you know that you don't have to drive far just to rest your body after an exhausting shopping sessions.

The check in is fast. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

The room quite small and, the one that I checked in was not that clean, especially the bathroom. However, the bed was great.

There is a small pool for kids. Breakfast is so so...

Overall, it's one to be considered for a short stay and if you want to shop around Cihampelas.

Hotel’s within the popular Cihampelas Road, within walking distance to the FO and shops nearby. Even though we’re confirmed for a Twin, Reception gave us a Double instead (hotel’s fully booked, they said). We refused. After much insistence, they “found” a Twin room for us! The staff on duty that night not obliging nor friendly at all. Room’s clean and bright, with 1 window. Bed's comfortable, hard yet soft and snoozy! Shower-head in bathroom not adjustable, there’s no hose attached, which means your hair gets wet every time you shower. Very inconvenient, esp for those of us who shower in the morning, without having to wash our hair at the same time! Hotel seems to be popular with groupies and company trips. Even after midnight, the guests next door were romping in and out of each other’s rooms, chatting and laughing along the corridor, and talking loudly on their handphones.
Further up along the road is Cihampelas Walk (“CiWalk”) where you have choices in food chains (Pizza Hut, Wendy’s, Coffee Bean) and walkway eateries, plus shops selling clothing, footwear, jeans and beauty accessories in another block. The airport’s only a 20-mins. ride, taxi-driver told us the new airport would be ready in 2 year’s time.

Room Tip: Rooms in the middle are better - nearer to the water dispenser at the corridor!

Good location in the heart of Bandung, clean room, friendly staffs, nice breakfast and free newspaper every morning and of course very affordable price. Very recommended for budget stay in Bandung, either solo trip or family trip.
