Together with my wife, I have been a frequent traveller in Asia for over 40 years usually staying in 4 star hotels booked through Agoda.

In February 2013 we stayed at the Golden Flower Hotel Bandung for 8 days. I choose this hotel by reading hotel reviews. I only book my hotel through Agoda because I get a better room and service and also because I prefer to pay by paypal.

For once my wife and I agree on something ...Golden Flower Hotel is out of this world both in terms of service and friendliness.

The buffet breakfast is excellent,changing daily with an extensive menu. The restaurant is also excellent ... top qualty food, professionally cooked the way it should be.

The service is slick, friendly and second to none.

Good swimming pool, gym and hotel security is top top notch...rooms are big and spotlessly clean.

In over 40 years of Asian travel I have not met nicer, friendlier people than the people of Bandung and staff at Golden Flower Hotel.

On the downside, although the hotel is well located the immediate environment is rundown and shabby but I did not find it objectionable.

In conclusion, The Golen Flower Hotel is out of this world

I stayed at the Golden Flower for 2 days in June 2012

This hotel overall had a pretty good quality. but I am not too happy with the service that I received in the lobby. receptionists were not friendly. probably because I look like a child of 18 years old rsepsionist not think I'm important, please do not differentiate treatment by age and appearance.

for breakfast, the food was served very diverse and tasty.

1. LOCATION is very good, though the hotel signage is not very visible from the road.

2. Booked the hotel through travel agent, after i got the confirmed voucherand do the double check to the hotel, the guy who is answering the phone in the reservation line, can not find my booking for the 2nd room(i booked 2 rooms ). 10 minutes of waiting on the phone still can not find it, means maybe hes not savy enough with the reservation system, until i requested for ms santi the hotel contact person stated in the voucher, then she easily found my 2 bookings.

3. Requested via the travel agent, via calling to the hotel and wrote down in my voucher to have an early check in by 11am, but when we got to the hotel it was almost 3pm, and 1 room is still not availlable. So after waiting for more then half an hour, and a bit anggry at the front desk, they upgraded my 1 room from deluxe to grand deluxe. Problem SOLVED!!

4. We ordered food from the restaurant to the room for dinner, the lady on the phone saids it will take less then half n hour, and it turns out it was more then that. And the food was tasty.

5. In early morning around 4am, the AC in the grand deluxe room turns to a medium cold, and getting hotter and hotter by the hour. After breaikfast time, when we got back to the room, it was very hot, even the bathroom was colder then the room it self, we called the technican and they said they will fix the problem, but come on!! to rent a room without ac makes you very dissapointed and angry. So we finally have to change our plan from resting in the cold room through out the day to just go out of the room for a whole day. And again the pro-active action was taken by the hotel, they moved us to another grand deluxe room which was very convinience with a cold ac, but no rain showe rtype in the bathroom, hmmm there was always a plus and a minus point although it was the same grand deluxe rooms.

6. The breakfast area was very wide, so the food booth was scattered in each sides. The taste was just ok, but nothing can impress you. And i was surprise that they dont serve soup and pudding,which was a very common thing in all the hotels i`vebeen to.

7. The staff were nice and polite. Specially the guy who acompanied us to transfer from 1 room to another and also the door man.

8. The grand deluxe room was very spacious and the tv was also BIG. love it

9. Agreed with other tripadvisor comments, that the swimming pool was too tiny

10. Need to do more cleaning works in the rooms, especially for the bed sheets, the towels which is not "white", the bathroom floors, the cupboard (during this visits means i`ve experienced on using 3 rooms)

I`ve been staying at other kagum groups hotel in bandung, and although my visit to GFH was just ok, but it just too hazzled and too much calling the hotel for this and that, so at the end, the convinience feeling is not there. I rather find another hotel to have a more comfortable and convinience staying..

The concierge (bellboy) service was fast and efficient when we first arrived at the hotel. After a full day of shopping in Bandung and feeling very tired (with not much sleep since we had an early morning flight from KL to Jakarta, straight to Bandung via highway), all we wanted were for a fast check in (trouble free) and nice comfortable rooms+bed, and that was exactly what we GOT!!!

Our rooms (Deluxe King) are huge and comfortable, albeit for a small bathroom which is still perfect.

As for breakfast, although I did not manage to taste most of their food, since I had stomach flue (due to something I ate from home), it was just nice...nothing to complain about. Love the fresh juices.

We truly enjoyed our stay here and will stay here again when we visit Bandung in the future...

Room Tip: Their King Beds are really huge!!!

Nice rooms and okay for 4 star standard. The breakfast was excellent with many food from western and indonesian food. Dislike the swimming pool because it's too small and not clean enough for 4 star hotel.

Room Tip: Deluxe would be better.

once you go in hotel, u will get a lot of smile and welcome from hotel staff. free airport transport if u requested. beside hotel got a Alfamart that allow you to get any drinks, snack.. etc... about 15-20 minute walking distand to paskal food market. there lot choice of food. Clean room, medium size room that can allow 3-4 member of family to stay in. breakfast are not bad as well. will choose this hotel when next time i visit bandung again... as i know there is under manage by kagum. n there got few hotel at bandung , jarkata and bali also.

Room Tip: level 1 is non smoking . start from level 2 until 3 and 5 is smoking level. (there dont have level 4...

full service hotel. grand entrance and well established property of kagum hotel. I'd stayed at Sun Royal hotel..kuta also managed by kagum hotels and i must say it's a good brand hotel of indonesia. Though it's old hotel to me.
coming from hotelier myself in singapore, it's the software that pleased myself n family.

suggesstion to have a brighter light on the long hallway as it can be rather dim walking down the hallway to lobby..

should look at room maintenance especially the shower area as show tap rather rusty.

pleasant staff, dedry who gave my little boy kids gift..thanks he like it so much especially soft toy, nurul and ayu plus the coincerge team.

well done.

Room Tip: well ours was facing the street..but good to ask for lobby view or restaurant view with balcony
