My husband and I stayed three nights with another couple at the Goya Boutique Resort. We booked the two bedroom pool villa (stayed in villa 8) that came with breakfast and a one way airport transfer. Upon arrival in Bali, the hotel driver met us and led us to his van for transfer to the hotel (a 60 minute drive). At the same time our driver approached and took some of our luggage two other men dressed in the same attire as our driver took our remaining bags and walked with us to the hotel van. Our driver saw this and did not say anything so we thought both men were with the hotel like our driver. As our driver brought the car around, the other two men bid us farewell and asked for money. At this point we realized these two men were not apart of the hotel and just trying to make a few extra dollars. Now this was not really an issue as no harm was done but it would have been nice if the driver notified us of this beforehand when he saw it happening.

As for the hotel, the property is new and the pool overlooking the rice terrace is as amazing as the pictures. It is definitely a boutique hotel and the staff really make the experience unforgettable. As for our room, it took a little time to work out the quirks of the upstairs bedroom. We had requested a double bed in both rooms in the pool villa however upon arrival, we were told the upstairs room was two twin beds. The hotel fixed this by pushing the beds together and reorganizing the room. This worked for my husband and I just fine. However when they did rearrange the furniture in the room they moved the furniture whereby covering access to the main light switches in the room. During the evening when trying to find the switches the staff on duty didn't know where the switches were either and just said there wasn't one (i.e. no lights in the bedroom)... The next day someone else on staff helped located the switch and all was fixed. Lastly, the upstairs bedroom didn't have a lot of outlets. So it wasn't possible to charge cell phones and use the electric mosquito devices (provided by the hotel).

Besides these items, a great stay and a unique hotel/experience.

Dear Kacey L,

Warmest greetings from Goya Boutique Resort!

We thank you so much for your stay with us and really appreciated for the constructive feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience upon airport pick up where the driver did not give you the information for the airport porter service. Regarding the villa, our 2 bedroom villa concept is for family which has twin bed on the 2nd floor which can be also set up as double bed. The switch are locate behind the bed and for sure that we will shared and brief the team accordingly.

Hopefully that we can host you again in the near future with better service quality.

Best regards,

Goya has some of the most incredible views from the pool. we stayed for 3 nights and were upgraded to a pool villa for the first night. The following 2 nights we then had to change rooms. The balcony from our level 3 room was also quite spectacular. Staff were super friendly and food was also delicious for our set menu breakfasts. The only issues we had being on Level 3 - we were directly opposite The Spa - which was not yet completed and they worked day and night to complete it in time for a promotional shoot on our last day which resulted in a lot of construction noise in our room. In the Level 3 room being underneath the pool and restaurant you could hear a lot movement above including all of the chairs above. Other than that one fault it was beautiful!!

Room Tip: Higher level rooms have a better view

Goya is a luxury resort, small and cosy, with beautiful views, little but nice restaurant, with a fantastic site pool, perfect service and very nice rooms. Looks a little expensive for Bali, but totally worth every single penny spent. The staff is at your disposal 24/7 good english speaking and very friendly. If you are looking for that perfect picture at the edge of the pool with the jungle view this hotel is the best for it. Anyways for me it was a perfect 2 days break from serfing atmosphere in this beautiful place.

Room Tip: higher floor gives a good view

We stayed at Goya for 3 nights at the end of our 10 day trip. The hotel is relatively new and beautifully designed. Someone with a passion for interior styling has been involved - just stunning ! The views around the pool are also amazing. We staying in a 2 bedroom pool villa which was perfect for our family of four. Its worth noting that if you have young kids the second bedroom is upstairs linked to the downstairs by an external staircase. You need to sleep with both doors closed so I'd only recommend with kids older than 4 or 5 and you are comfortable being out of earshot from them.
They staff are lovely and keen to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Being a new hotel some of the staff are a little inexperienced and service around breakfast and happy hour could be a little slow. The staff make up for it though with care and smiles. We especially loved Eka. She spent time with our girls making canang sari and babysat for us twice. In fact on our last night we had planned to have dinner out as a family however our kids requested Eka come round to look after them and kicked us out !
We had a great stay and would love to come back. My only recommendation for improvement would be the pool towels ! Your resort is so beautiful but yellow and orange striped towels do not fit with the look!!

It was the first place we stayed at while we were in Bali and let me say, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the staff there was friendly and helpful with everything we needed. The food was amazing, our suite was gorgeous and where this villa is situated, we were treated to a stunning view. It's a close walk to the Monkey Forest and if you want to shop, eat and be treated to a nice massage all this is within a 10-15 minute walk. My wife and I left with very fond memories - Highly recommended.
