We had dinner twice at this place, first night we enede up there because it’s right where our suttle pick us up but we really liked it and came back the next night. For the second night we pre-ordered Bebek Batutu (smoked duck) – they need 24 hours notice. That meal was very good, very good value, even though the duck was on a smaller side. With that meal you also get a little recipe book, very cute and informative. The restaurant runs cooking school as well, we decided we will do it next time we are in Ubud. Chicken and fish dishes were also delicious – really nice food and place is also very pleasant to sit – would definitely go back. Service is slow, they are understaffed but that didn’t bother us really.

“Just an average, ordinary cafe/restaurant in Ubud”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

Having read Janet's book Fragrant Rice, I was excited to be visiting Ubud and going to Casa Luna. I clearly had too high expectations as while the food was lovely, and service typical of Ubud, it was certainly nothing special. It's just another typical tourist restaurant in Ubud. There are other that are better such as Juice Cafe and Fair Warung Bale.

“My favorite in Ubud”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

Right in the middle of Ubud, this is one of the restaurants you have to visit during your stay. The food is tasty, and you can feel that they put some effort into every meal. To top off the restaurant visit, I had the pleasure of also joining Casa Lunas cooking class, it was a fun, interesting and delicious experience.

We enjoy the place, well decosrated. The servide was very nice.
We were explecting more on the food given the reputation. But we enjoyed some of the dishes.

“Shocking - don't go there.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

It amazes me this place is still standing. I ordered one of the main meal specials. It was special alright. The dish was supposed to include baba ganoush. There was no baba ganoush and for far too many rupiah I was served a 'meal', less the baba of course, that was just about worthy of being called an entree. I ate what was there and had a main course elsewhere. Tired institution, living off what is now a very wilted frangipani reputation.
