Description: Cafe Wayan and Bakery Established in 1986 We are happy to have had so many nice guests come to enjoy our food for over 31 years. Cafe Wayan started as a small warung (a local food stall) where Ibu Wayan sold black rice pudding and coffee to the rice farmers on what has now become Monkey Forest Road. Tourist began walking down "the path" to the Monkey Forest and stopped by for a coffee, snacks or to buy peanuts for the monkeys. Ibu Wayans always love to cook as a child and soon the menu began to expand. Return friends to Ubud began helping with recipes of western dishes as long term visitors and residents sometimes miss their own food too. Ibu Wayan began traveling abroad and learned more western cooking with Chef Joe Schultz of India Joes's restaurant in Santa Cruz, California and also learned the art of Thai cuisine in Bangkok.

Had dinner here. Service, food and setting all excellent! Nasi campur and green pancakes delicious! Would definitely return. Garden setting goes on forever.

“Disgusting buffet "food"”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

Avoid. It's a tourist trap of the worst. Everything in Bali is gorgeous so the setting does not make up for it.

“Disgusting, tasteless buffet "food"”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

Was there last night - as a newbie here, it's hard to know where to go at first. Had the worst, probably leftover dreck buffet ever. Offensive.
The setting is gorgeous, as is everything in Bali.

“Sistercation 2013 dinner”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

A great place to eat and relax...have eaten here quite a few times over the years and just keep going back again and again....staff lovely, food just fantastic, we even got takeaway one night for one of our sisters who was tired and didn't come this one night so we got her some takeaway and the way that it way packaged up was amazing....do yourself a favour, if you like eggplant/aubergine try wayan's, I am still raving about it now......

“Wow, wow and wow! Ubud must-eat!”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

You must eat here, don't look further!

We dined our first night here, and returned on the second!
If you make a reservation, you can get these cosy private sitting tables.
The complete decoration is spot on.

Let the staff surprise you. They are very welcoming and have great food recommendations. We all ended up with the Bali ultimate sampler (cost 90K IDR), and it was sooo gooood!! The food was incredibly tasty, good spicyness, just wonderful.
On the second night we have the Nasi Campur, which is also wonderful, but not the best dish.

This place is on Monkey Forest Road, a 10 minute walk from Ubud centre.
