Description: Cafe Wayan and Bakery Established in 1986 We are happy to have had so many nice guests come to enjoy our food for over 30 years. Cafe Wayan started as a small warung (a local food stall) where Ibu Wayan sold black rice pudding and coffee to the rice farmers on what has now become Monkey Forest Road. Tourist began walking down "the path" to the Monkey Forest and stopped by for a coffee, snacks or to buy peanuts for the monkeys. Ibu Wayans always love to cook as a child and soon the menu began to expand. Return friends to Ubud began helping with recipes of western dishes as long term visitors and residents sometimes miss their own food too. Ibu Wayan began traveling abroad and learned more western cooking with Chef Joe Schultz of India Joes's restaurant in Santa Cruz, California and also learned the art of Thai cuisine in Bangkok.

“Balinese Platter - Outstanding”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

I have reviewed Cafe Wayan before, but our last visit just proofed again how great the food really is. If you are really hungry have the Balinese Platter. It even beats the Nasi Campur! Always go to the very back of the garden to enjoy the tranquility of this place, whilst having some outstanding food.

“Relaxing setting”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

We came here after a busy midmorning shopping at Ubud market! We sat at the back in the garden just by the lotus pond and on low fluffy cushions. It was a relaxing afternoon with some very tasty spring rolls, chilled bintangs and the fan above us. Definitively a lovely place to come and relax in the gardens...a lovely little relaxing get-away from the hustle and bustle of the main road and shops..

“You can get same quality cheaper”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

The location and setting are really nice with the separation of the tables with the garden so you think it's smaller than it really is, however the drinks and the food were not of any better quality or taste than other Restuarants around the area that are quite cheaper

“Must visit”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

Having visited Cafe Wayan on Gili Trawangan, which is a much smaller operation, (which we loved by the way).................. we were impressed with this, their first restaurant
It looks quite small from the front which was incredibly deceptive.......cant believe how large it was inside, it seemed to stretch back forever, in a beautiful setting
Had a superb meal backed up with great service, and great value for money
Would definitely recommend it

“Our visit for Balinese food”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

We normally come here for Balinese food. It is situated very near our hotel. Service just ok but food and environment is nice. Really good for a nice slow lunch sitting in the bale.
