Description: The Sayan House RESTAURANT offers a Japanese-Latin Fusion cuisine. The Chef has used his world-wide experiences of tastes and cooking to unify them in his plates, giving traditional dishes a new look and flavour. In the open-air environment of our home, you may enjoy an elegant yet cozy dining experience in various settings: - Two main dining areas hosting up to 70 seats namely the Dining Room and Veranda. The latter unveils an exceptionally stunning view of Sayan from the edge of its Cliff, overlooking the Ayung river and gorge. - We furthermore provide a private dining space, The Guest Room, which seats up to 10 people. - Lastly, a Teppanyaki grill table with a specially selected menu is available for 7 seats, where our Chef prepares each dish to perfection in front of you. The Sayan House BAR also specializes in beverages - offering a wide selection of drinks from the house's own signature cocktails, wine, to premium whiskey brands. We ensure the quality of our homemade beverages by using only the freshest ingredients. Our bar encompasses three main areas: 1. The main House Pub 2. The first-floor Garden Room where you can enjoy the garden view and gentle breeze, and 3. The Living Room at the second-floor mezzanine, a place to sit back and relax while having a good glass of cocktail or whiskey.

Went there recommended through a couple of friend living in the area, the food and the service was surprisingly good.
We were guests of 7 so we could try different varieties from the menu.
This is our first time here and the staff told us they had implemented a new concept; fusion of Japanese and Mexican. We thought they were good.

We were in Sayan house last year and loved it so much that we came again next day. We were dreaming about coming back all year long. We took family with us and prepared them for something they won't forget. The place is still beautiful, the staff is still nice, but...My first warning should have been when the menu was a laminated piece of paper (not the beutiful menu from last year), the stuff on the menu looked weird and like a culinary experiment gone wrong, I had trouble choosing. Most of it had a fast food mexican feel too it, but we stayed. What a terrible mistake. The food was simply disgusting. None off us had a good meal. My sister had a badly cooked rice with corn in it and two boring skewers with chicken - you get better and less boring food in any warung. Mine was the burger. It was mushy and tasteless. There was something bitter in it and the pile of coriander in it just masked the bad look of it. We longed for the good we remembered,so we had the mushroom soup again like last year(maybe the only thing that stayed on the menu)- even that sinked by 3 levels. It was too fat, the egg was not good.
We ordered a cocktail pitcher, they forgot about it.
I complained and just got a shy "sorry" from the waitress. There is a serious lack of management if you tell them the meal sucks big time (literally) and nobody even stops by to ask what's wrong. We finished the meal as we were very hungry and it was past 10pm, we left in a bad mood determined to never feel like idiots ever again in this place.
If the management wakes up and changes the place to what it was let us know, we will be back instantly.

We had several lovely evenings and great dinners in/around Ubud, but our dinner at Sayan House was far and away the standout experience. Super excellent staff, even including those working in the open kitchen, impressed us with their expertise and attention, which is saying a lot in a town where great service is the norm. Try to arrive before sunset (or go for lunch) to enjoy the lovely view. The menu was unusual with its combination of Japanese and South American dishes, and everything we tried (party of three) was fabulous. Highly recommend. Go early in your stay so you will have time to go back!

We wish we had discovered this place sooner! We found it on our last night in Ubud and were so happy we did. We were sat on their gorgeous and romantic outdoor terrace and ordered the chef's tasting menu. Our highlights were the mushroom soup and the foie gras sushi. The staff was attentive and extremely friendly.
