A very private and comfortable villa, with fantastic amenities that are beautifully maintained by the very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Close to many activities for families and small groups. Home cooked meals have us feeling thoroughly spoilt, having enjoyed many local dishes freshly made, all extremely tasty and of restaurant quality. Highly recommended for family getaway and small group stays.
This is definitely the way to go as far as privacy, beautiful gardens and friendly, helpful staff. The best restaurants are in Ubud and quality shopping. Thanks David, Wayan and the ladies who took excellent care of us all.
If you need a truly outstanding experience of bali look no further than Majestic villas.....everything from the staff to the outstanding location is first class.
I cannot recommend David and his team enough....thankyou!
This is a stunning villa situated amongst verdant green rice fields, in a quiet non-tourist village minutes away (by car) from the nearest town of Gianyar. This 5* villa has been built to the highest standard in Balinese style with spacious beautifully furnished rooms, a large pool and beautiful garden. The first floor has an extensive, open sitting area and two separate open small Balinese style lounge areas on the second floor, perfect for watching the sunrise. Under the verandah there are plenty of loungers and chairs for relaxing, after enjoying many dips in the superb very well maintained pool. The garden was a real delight, with a lawn big enough to play ball games, and planted with lots of indigenous trees, shrubs and flowers, made even more delightful by enjoying fruit from the trees to the plate. Breakfast was prepared for us by the very delightful friendly and smiley staff, along with some evening meals, all of which were enjoyed at the lovely huge outdoor dining table. The villa was an oasis of calm and coolness away from the hustle and bustle and heat of the towns. Perfect for a relaxing holiday.
For an extra cost we had the use of a car and driver, and the staff suggested places to visit.
I had high expectations of the villa due to the rave reviews and was not disappointed.
My family had an absolutely awesome stay. Time spent at the villa was comfortable and idyllic. I'd echo all the nice praises that's been heaped on the villa, owner David and staff. Kudos to Wayan, the Manager, and his staff for working hard to make the stay for our unusually big group, so pleasant.
We've brought home very happy memories of our hol in Ubud, thanks in a large part, to the lovely New Majestic Villa.
The new majestic was an amazing house with 3 complete bedrooms with aircon, and 2 rooms which are out in the fresh air. 2 deluxe suites downstairs have ensuites. The staff were very helpful we received daily breakfast with a cooking fee. We also got dinner cooked for us for 2 nights which was more then sufficient, traditional cuisine and very nice. We were provided with a driver for each day of our stay with a fee who suggested a few different places to eat and drink. We ordered in house massages and pedicures which were reasonably priced and all organised by our house manager. We were able to be picked up from our villa in Seminyak and taken to ubud and then returned to the airport on time for our return flight. It was a great 3 nights and a perfect end to our Balinese holiday.
Remember Shangri La the fictional place described in the 1933 novel Lost Horizon? Well, our holiday at the Majestic Villa was as close as I have been to finding it on this earth! The villa lies in a tiny village nestled amongst rice fields and flanked by views of the ocean on one side and Mt Agung on the other. The open plan living is generous and comfortable and even with many guests there is always a private bit of paradise to retreat to. Many times throughout the day we were blessed with the sounds of the Gamelan and the chanting from the temples. Sometimes we were entertained by the sounds of the shadow puppet soap operas, crying out across the valley and reminding us that this is a culture steeped in traditional practices.
We spent our days by the infinity pool, having massages, reading books, playing badminton and being spoilt by Nofi and Ketut. Each morning they would make breakfast with banana pancakes, black sticky rice, fresh fruits and brewed coffee. Dinners at the villa, were sumptuous and full of variety and ridiculously affordable. One morning Nofi took me on the back of her scooter to the Gianyar market to select the ingredients for dinner. So much fun!
At times we ventured out to the Gianyar night markets to eat, went to Ubud for silver jewellery making classes and shopping. Wayan the manager organised drivers to take us wherever we wished. Nothing was too much to ask for, but mostly we stayed at the villa enjoying the relaxation.
I will definitely return to the Majestic Villa, Nofi, Ketut, the sweet young gardener Wayan and his fleet of drivers. Even though Bali has long been discovered and infiltrated by the west, this holiday was an immersion in Balinese culture and traditions. That's not so easy to find. Thank you to David for creating such a magical place and finding such gentle people to look after us.
