“Peaceful & beautiful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

We (group of 14 people, 7 rooms) stayed there for 3 nights.
Very peaceful, quiet and beautiful overlooking the rice field. Clean & comfortable room & bed.
Breakfast could use some varieties, especially if you stay longer than 3 nights, but I have no complain. Located within walking distance to Monkey Forest and Ubud Town Center where you can find various places to eat and shop!
Complimentary Free shuttle to and from Hotel to Ubud Town Center is plus!
Great value and service! Staff are all super nice (especially Ms. Feny)! Will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Rooms facing rice field are nice.

Our piece of paradise for 4 to 6 weeks each year. Wonderful location just off busy Jalan Pengosekan and it feels far from the insanity of Kuta and area. Units face away from the street and to the fields so quiet and it feels like a rural setting. So interesting to watch the cycle of farmers planting/ fields growing/ harvesting/ fallow time/ preparing to plant -depending on when in the cycle you are there. We call it our "live National Geographic channel". Staff are lovely- friendly, helpful and personal. There's a convenient service of drop of and pick up at restaurants as, tho we rent a car, parking is at a premium in town. The hotel drivers will do day tours of the island and do offer airport pickup.

The standard rooms do not have as pleasant a view and are less spacious. Other room are good. A large new section of quad bungalows is being built so hope the atmosphere can still be maintained and the current older rooms not ignored re:upkeep. The biggest downside is there is no wifi in the rooms, only in the open air lobby. (No TV in rooms either but with a view like they have, you'll not miss it.) A good restaurant on site and a great many restaurants within a very short walk and a large grocery store 5 minutes walk away.

Room Tip: Budget rooms quite tired but other rooms very pleasant.

Just love this place, since my last trip there is a lot of work that has happened and continues to go on. New Reception and new rooms being built, plus they are planning a new pool.
I stayed again in the budget rooms, these are getting a lit worn but for 300,000 IDR I am still happy there. The staff, breakfast, salt water pool are excellent for me. The rooms where I stay are slightly out of the main area, but wifi worked from room, hot water tea & coffee provided.
I enjoy the area close to the Yoga Barn, restaurants and Monkey Forest.
If you can afford the better rooms go for it Greenfields especially Toni on reception who remembers me each time make this stay so special.

When we checked in, we were a little disappointed with the standard room we had reserved being a bit run-down and worn out looking. It was on the 2nd floor with a balcony but closer to the reception and road, and had a slight view of rice fields. They then offered us another room (Super de Luxe Suite) for a discount because it was next to construction that was going on in the day. We went ahead and took the much nicer room, and the construction noise never really bothered us very much. They did play music early morning or late in the day which we could hear. I was glad we paid more for the nicer room as my mother got sick and spent a good full day in bed and it was good to have the air con and comfort for her.

They could use more lamps in the room and a fan. We didn't like the fact that one of the light switches outside on our front porch turns on the light inside the room. One of the nights when the security guard went around turning off the porch lights (around 4:45am) they also turned on our inside light (probably by mistake) waking us up!! There were a few bugs in the room, but not too bad. They provided mosquito repellent plug-in machine for the room which we used at night.

There was a mini fridge, and they gave us 2 bottles of water per day. Also basic toiletries included. The bathroom was in need of new venetian blinds---they were a bit bent and gapped in places, so at night if the light is on in the bathroom, someone out in the fields could possibly see in. There are many paths going through the rice fields and some small shacks where we saw people hanging out in the day. Not sure if they sleep there or it was just a rest place for them.

Breakfast was very filling and good. There were several choices on the menu-- fruit juice or fruit platter or fruit salad with yogurt and honey, eggs with toast or croissant, pancake, fried rice or fried noodles with fried egg, or cereal and coffee or tea.

Saltwater pool was small but nice place to relax and nice view of the rice fields. Seemed to be plenty of lounge chairs and also enough shade.

The hotel offered different tours but we didn't join any, as my mother was sick and spent a lot of time in the room. The location is easy walking distance to yoga barn (5-10 min), where I enjoyed taking classes. We did get out to see one dance performance in the evening--they drove and dropped us off and showed us where to get the tickets. I liked the fact that they offer many tours and services but are not pushy about booking through them. The people at the desk were always very helpful.

This hotel is also easy walking distance(5 min) to the tourist Perama bus office(if you take the bus and are dropped off in Ubud) and also close to a large supermarket where you can get snacks or fresh fruit, water, and basic things.

I was traveling with my mother who is in her 70's and she was not used to the heat and humidity, so we took advantage of the car service they provide. They will drop you off in the town and also pick you up when you call for a ride which was very convenient and we never had to wait more than 15 or 20 minutes for them to come. It is about 15 or 20 min walk to the Monkey Forrest.

There was wi-fi available in the hotel lobby/reception area. And they also had a few computers to use for a small charge. Restaurant also had reasonable prices for food and drinks but we found a lot of the food to be too salty and learned to request no salt.

Good for older couples, families with older kids, solo travelers and people who are looking for a quiet place to relax.

It was a nice peaceful place with friendly and accommodating staff and I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Request a view of the rice fields and/or close to the pool-and also nice to be on the 2nd floor. (2n...

Greenfields is such a welcoming, friendly place. It has a nice feel to it. We stayed in one of the Bale Semampai room. Gorgeous views of the rice fields.

The staff our so helpful. Any requests were done right away. Enjoyed the breakfast (they do a perfectly poached egg)!

Like the fact that the swimming pool was salt water, as opposed to chlorine. Plus, it was in a beautiful setting.

Would definitely go back again!

Bale Adat was excellent accomodation for our 13 day stay. As we were doing a lot of yoga it was in perfect vicinity to the Yoga Barn and shuttle for the Bali Spirit Festival. Rooms cleaned daily, service was very good, lovely clean salt water pool, great shuttle bus for drop off and pick up in Ubud. Very happy with stay and will not hesitate to stay again.
