We stayed for three nights leaving on the 28th as a party of six. We have a single villa and a double villa and both were great but the single villa was enormous (104) and beautifully furnished. We loved the privacy of the villas and the room service was fantastic with lovely breakfasts served by your own pool. Again we thought the pick up and drop offs were great. We spent half a day doing the campharan walking trail and this was very good as the hotel dropped us at the top and we walked down. I can highly recommend cafe kasa on this trail as a lovely place to stop. We also did the Eco cycling tour( leaflet in reception) and this was a fantastic day out. Overall the netafari really went the extra mile for us. As we were cycling on our last day in ubud they arranged for our luggage to meet us at the end of the cycling tour. Furthermore when we arrived in amed we realised we had left some stuff in the villa. Nefarii arranged for this to be delivered to our next hotel in sanur which was just fantastic and we can't thank them enough. The only thing that could have added of our holiday is a fan under the cabana for when we were having breakfast but really this was a small thing.

Room Tip: We loved 104.

Stayed 27-30 March 2013 at Melati 2, double storied 2-bedroom villa. Traveling 5 pax, a couple with young child and grandparents.

Though held up in the airport bus upon arrival for over half an hour, and finally checked out of customs after 1 hour, we were warmly greeted by Ari the driver from the hotel.. who also works in the kitchen. Upon checking at reception check-in, we were greeted with refreshing ginger drink that our 3 year old son unhesitatingly gulped down.

As we reached in early evening, tea was still being served, so we had fresh pineapple and papaya juices and delicious Balinese style banana fritters. A big hit with everyone.

Though the villa did not have the usual toiletries set/pack eg. toothbrush, comb, etc. only shower cream and shampoo.. the towels a bit old.. and some of the amenities are a bit run down, the ambience, architecture and the location set next to rice fields and village style setting was right-spot-on for a wonderful Balinese experience. Yes, the bedrooms, with the pitched roof, are adequately air-conditioned. Poster beds with mosquito netting, the sound of insects, geckos, chickens in the mornings, kingfishers and occasional dogs barking in the distance, adds to the charm of the whole experience.

Coming from an urban dwelling, our son had great fun just in the garden. We had frogs visiting, geckos, insects, butterflies flying overhead during breakfast or as we swim in the pool wiht occasional hibiscus flowers in the pool from the next unit.. we didn't mind that at all. It was lovely. Oh, as out villa was right next to someones farm, we had gentle whiffs of manure when the weather got a lil humid.. it didn't bother us as there wasn't any smell indoors.

Service was quick, 5-10min as the hotel compound was small and private. We ordered dinner in the last night stay, and it was a pleasant. The on demand shuttle, is truly on-demand, we didn't have to wait a bit at the hotel. Return pick-up from Ubud town was just a call away (10-15min wait). Everyone was very friendly and warm.

All villas have their own pools and walled up for privacy. Parents need to keep an eye on young children and it is waist deep and onwards...

A definite recommendation for couples and families who like to experience Bali Ubud in more traditional setting yet in the comfort of privacy.

Yes, I would love to stay in Nefatari again.

Wanting to find a good balance of luxury and price, I decided to book our 5 nights in Bali at the Nefatari Executive Villas after reading the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor. I was not disappointed with my choice and think it was an awesome deal. Our Two Bedroom Villa was tastefully appointed in contemporary Balinese style, came with it's own private pool and outdoor cabana and was set in a traditional Balinese building compound a few minutes drive out of downtown Ubud.

We were given one of the newer single story Two Bedroom Villas and were greeted with fresh fruit and glasses of juice. I think it was called Villa Pacah. Apparently there are a total of eight villas, (3) Two Bedroom Villas and (5) Single Bedroom Villas, all with private pools.

The staff were friendly, the complimentary breakfast was tasty (especially the Bubur Ayam) and the complimentary car service to town and to the airport was very convenient. They offer inexpensive dinner and lunch options too and the complimentary wi-fi access was handy. Overall, had a great time at the Nefatari.

The reviews were very favorable, and almost as soon as we arrived we knew why. A beautiful villa - 45 square metres - with its own private pool ( I estimate the pool to be about 7 metres long ), a cabana where you can have your breakfast served overlooking the pool, and chaise lounges to relax on. The villa is furnished with high quality furniture in exquisite Balinese taste.Surround it with a wall so that you don't see and are not seen by the neighbours, and one has the perfect recipe for a relaxing holiday. If you want a massage they have a spa and massage centre next to the little creek that runs alongside Nefatari.

Service is impeccable - breakfast arrives in a couple of minutes - other meals are available at very little cost - afternoon tea is free. The staff are responsive to your every wish. Want to go into Ubud? A car is instantly available, and when you are ready to come back just give them a call and the car will pick you up in less than 10 minutes. If you are there more than a few days airport transfers are included. Free Wifi? Of course!

Is it perfect - just about. It could upgrade the towels when new ones are purchased and it might be time for some flat screen TVs, but to be honest we hardly watched TV what with the pool and time to catch up on some reading.

All of this at a price which makes a joke of all the Balinese chain hotels and resorts. And remember this is Ubud - far away from the kitch of Kuta. With some very nice shops and extremely good restaurants - try Cafe Wayan, Bridges, Cafe Lotus and Cafe Luna.

Will we go again? You bet.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa travelling with friends for 4 nights. From our late night check in to midday check out staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The villa was lovely with a large private pool and outdoor dining (no kitchenette other than the fridge. A kettle was provided on request and we were able to use that in our rooms). Bedrooms were spacious and beds and pillows very comfortable. In room safe, in a lockable cupboard, was great and secure. Bathrooms were large with semi-open air shower in main and bath with detachable shower head in both. Very clean and beautifully presented with the toilet tucked away behind the vanity wall. The toilet roll holder was a little far away from the toilet though and lighting was dim. Walls were quite thin between the bedrooms being both ground level rooms and curtains were thin letting in the outside lights (note: front reception can arrage to have these turned off. You can't turn them off yourself) and early morning light. Breakfast was nice and brought to the villa daily with staff being friendly and helpful and breakfast dishes cleared away quickly and efficiently. The complimentary transfers (both ways) to anywhere we wanted in the city centre were great. About a 10 minute drive each way. As transfers were available on request, it was not a problen for us to not be walking distance away. The grounds and gardens were beautiful and well presented. There were quite a few steps though - not a problem for us but could be for someone with mobility issues. Overall a great stay and would recommend Nefatari (and Ubud!) to others.

Can't really add much to all the other reviews here which contributed to our decision to stay at Nefatari. We'd spent the first half of our Bali holiday in Seminyak staying in a modern villa, so this was quite a contrast. The architecture is much more in the traditional Balinese style, each Villa being surrounded by high moss-clad walls.
The hospitality was great: They picked up on time from Seminyak. The complimentary transport in and out of Ubud is efficient. Free soft drinks and snacks in the minibar. Complimentary afternoon tea with cakes and fruit. WiFi quite fast and always on. Pool cleaned daily. Traditional offerings placed in our Villa and around the property regularly..
Check out is at 11.00pm, but our flight wasn't leaving until midnight. They said we would be able to stay in our room until it was time to leave, provided the room wasn't booked. However, it turned out they were full, so they stored our bags while we took a trip to the Bedugul area (35K with car and driver for about 6 hours). On return, we were able to shower in the Spa and prepare for the journey home.
There's not much in the way of shops or restaurants nearby, but there is a pretty good cheapo Indian about 75m down the road - turn right out of the front gate. There was an English couple staying in the Villas who liked this restaurant so much they went every day!
Only downside is there is no tea-coffee making facilities in the room, so you have to wait for breakfast before you get your first cuppa. (Though they probably would bring you one if you asked, I didn't.)
Overall, staying at Nefatari will ornament your Ubud experience.

My husband and I had our honey moon at the Nefatari Villa. It is through trip advisor we got to know this villa. We bought the honey moon package. Staff are warm and helpful. True enough there is complimentary transport to everywhere because the villa is located up hill. Is a bit distant to the ubud market and shopping area. They took time to decorate our honey moon villa, the set-up was very romantic with lots of flower petals. They also have a nature spa with natural stream water flowing, the sound of the stream water is very therapeutic. The massage was just ok. You can forget about manicure and pedicure, is not that good. This villa is totally balinese set-up. We like it! Is quiet and romantic. Highly recommended if this is what you're looking for.
