Excellent views, superb service, and amazing product.... this was the first time for me to stay in ubud, after a two week long business trips, I decided to stay at this villa for a night, even if its just for one night, it really help with the tension and work related stress that I'm having... luv this hotel and will definitely come back for longer stay...
My body was in shock when we arrived to our villa with a private pool. Our bed was laden with rose petals and frangipani in a heart shape.Our spa was filled with pink rose petals and red petals in the centre in a heart shape.There was no need to put on the TV or put music on as w
e felt at peace with the lush green rice paddies surrounded by tall palms and waterlillies in the water. The sound of mother nature calling birds, frogs and crickets was calming to hear. The staff were all helpful greeting us always with a smile. We will certainly be returning for a longer stay!!!
We stayed at The Ubud Village Resort and Spa for one week and it was magnificent. Our private villa was absolutely beautiful and all of the furnishings were of good quality and decor. Our private pool and sun lounges were also wonderful.
The large property is a tropical paradise and the view over the rice fields and pool during breakfast was fantastic. The view from the cafe during the complimentary afternoon tea was beautiful too.
The villa was cleaned very well and the insect control was very good. We did not have any problem at all with bugs or insects other than finding a few dead ones in the sink in the morning.
Every one of the staff were very friendly all of the time and management checked regularly that we were happy with our stay. The staff were very gentle and always offered to take photos for you if they saw you had a camera.
The full menu is available for room service 24hrs per day and the breakfast choices are a good mix of Indonesian and Western. The fresh fruit plate and juice every morning is very nice. They have homemade jams for breads and often offered us a complimentary breakfast special.
Prices for food and spa treatments are obviously more expensive than in the town, which is only a 15 min drive in the free shuttle bus which leaves the hotel every hour.
Overall we had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Ubud Village Resort and Spa and would recommend it to others.
We've been there to see the property and check the quality - truly saying. Everything was just perfect! The place, the ambience, the quality, the food. Everything! You can staying there even for a couple of days relaxing and enjoying that fantastic place, service and area.
My wife and I came here to spend our honeymoon. We took the honeymoon package which came with massages, dinner, cooking class and more. The private villa we had was spectacular in every way. It was spacious, the bed was facing the pool, it was romantic and it is one of the best places to escape the busy city. There were quite some choices of breakfast to choose from and we've tried most of them and they all tasted fantastic.
Their best trait is their fantastic hospitality. One afternoon while having our daily tea and pastries (included when you stay there), we asked the waiter if there was any klepon (Balinese dessert snack). The chef told us that they couldn't serve it last minute, but they would prepare some for us the next day during breakfast. What a surprise when we went for early breakfast, our klepons were served and presented to us very nicely and it tasted fantastic. The portion was pretty generous too.
What I love most was the romantic setting they did to our private villa when we had our candlelight dinner. The candles was scattered all around our villa floor and the accumulated dim lights lit up the house. The food was not bad but the overall setup was extremely romantic. We were really glad to have stayed here and the price is quite reasonable as well, providing that they have many fun activities awaiting for us.

Stayed a week in the resort and have mixed feelings.
Staff were very attentive, nice, especially in the restaurant at breakfast. They always had something to say, or ask, and we found it quite nice. However during the week we always had to ask for milk with our tea, they never remembered. Breakfast menu got quite boring by the end of the week.
Our villa was beautiful, spacious, but found the toilet and shower room rather smelly... The tablecloth in the outdoor eating area was dirty and horrible, would not want to touch it or eat my food on that.
Also the flynet around the bed was dirty and full of dead flies, I would recommend to wash them regularly....
We couldn't sleep on our first night due to busy "singing" frogs outside.... but it wasn't the hotels' fault of course.
Mosquito repellent spray was provided, but every day when we got back form day trips the room was full of them, I am not sure why the staff doing the evening visit had to leave all door open to invite them in? They put the electronic repellent on but was not enough, we had to go around the bed and just kill them.
There was a wedding in the neighborhood for 3 days until very late at night - according to other staff members there was a music band practicing for a trip to overseas- so you decide which story was true- and we have been moved to another (smaller) villa which had an adjoning villa next to it and could hear other people in there!!! It is not what you expect form a PRIVATE villa! Outrageous that it was the only villa available because they upgraded everybody booked in their Ubud village hotel- it was closed due to renovation. They paid the hotel price and stayed in the resort where we paid $300 a night.
The resort surroundings and the garden was truly beautiful and relaxing, a lot of people are working on the landscape, they clean all pools every day.
We spent a day around the main pool, which was pleasant in the huge day bed.
The afternoon tea is included in the price, tried the rice tea, which was very different, but nice. Don't expect a big feed, rather some nibbles.
The girls making offering baskets there and teach you some basics, which was a nice touch.
We ordered room service twice, the Club sandwich was very nice, and very quick service.
If the heron tour is included in your package- don't bother to waste your time, the tour is that they take you to a road where the birds live and you can walk and hope you won't get birdpoo in your neck....We got out for 5 min, and got back in to the car and left....The birds are much nicer to watch on the rice fields while you are having breakfast in the resort.
Overall, I feel we paid a lot more than what we got for the price.
