“Excellent Choice For Ubud”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

I stayed her for 11 days with my spouse and our two kids. It is a really nice hotel. The villas are very spacious and the grounds are beautiful. The service is excellent and the staff is friendly and very attentive. You will need a car/driver if you stay here as the location is a bit out of town, but our kids were at camp at green school and it was convenient to both Ubud town and the school.

This is a copy of an email that I sent to the General Manager of Ubud Village Resort & Spa regarding my recent stay at Ubud Village Resort & Spa.

Dear Mr Swabawa

As you know we stayed at Ubud Village Resort & Spa in Villa 221 from the 18.1.2013 to 21.1.2013 before flying back to Sydney last Tuesday the 22nd January.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and the team at Ubud Village Resort & Spa for an unforgettable stay at your facility.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home and nothing was too much for your staff in terms of satisfying our every need and request. Their professionalism, commitment and dedication to the job at hand were second to none and they are a credit to their respective professions.

We would also like to especially mention Piki and Yuni from your reception team and Mr Oka from your reservations team for their outstanding professionalism, courtesy, kindness and helpfulness during our stay.

The food was of the highest quality, the cleaning and preparation of our villa twice a day was something that we do not always experience when we travel and we cannot get over how friendly every member and I mean every member of your staff were every minute of every day. It certainly felt like one big happy family who really loved and enjoyed their work and who went out of their way to please the guests.

Please pass on our sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks to every member of your team from the transport team, to the fantastic and extremely helpful reception staff, reservation staff, cleaning staff, restaurant staff (the breakfast’s, dinners and afternoon teas were fantastic and most enjoyable), it was a fantastic holiday, in a fantastic facility with fantastic staff.

In terms of the cost of our villa and inclusions, as well as the cost of the extras such as the transport and dinner in your restaurant, your charges are extremely competitive and represented excellent value for money.

We are planning to return to Bali in early May 2013 and will contact your reservation staff shortly to make a booking. Whilst it was great to come home we can’t wait to return to Ubud Village Resort & Spa, Ubud.

Once again thank you to Ubud Village Resort & Spa so much for making our stay unforgettable and an experience that we will never forget. Your facility came highly recommended from Australia and we are glad that we took this advice as it turned out 100% correct, but even more than this exceeded our every expectation.

Please feel free to use our comments in any way your like to promote Ubud Village Resort & Spa, we certainly will be through our friends, on Trip Advisor and other mediums and at every opportunity.

See you in early May 2013 and kind regards,

Charles & Betty Tees - Sydney Australia

I visited this resort in January 2013. It is a short distance from Ubud which means it is peaceful and mostly noise free.
The first impression is of security. As you drive/walk along the only access you have to clear a 24 hour security boom gate complete with guard.
Next in view is the large and open lobby which has smiling faces waiting to greet you, and as with most Balinese, the smiles are genuine!
I was met by Made Kama who is a most friendly and efficient host, a rare combination these days.
He proceeded to show me around the entire resort with great enthusiasm, explaining many things including the owner's motivation for keeping functioning rice paddies. At a time when Bali is rapidly losing its famous paddies to hotel buildings, this owner has set aside a large area for paddies for the pleasure of guests to view.
The grounds are very large with most of the rooms spaced well apart. Whilst I can't remember how many rooms there are, there are few compared to the large land area.
The gardens are magnificent and and the rooms spacious and well appointed.
The restaurants are adequate with the breakfast area having a wonderful view.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
This a reasonably up market resort with a price to match.
Thank you to Kama for the unhurried time you spent with me and your obvious love of the place.

We stayed in Ubud Village Resort for 3 nights and we absolutely loved everything.
The resort is in a great location, surrounded by paddy field and trees which is very peaceful and quiet..perfect for honeymoon couple. What we loved most is the candle light dinner..superb nice and romantic..Everything is nice here except in Ubud doesn't has beach. To experience nice beach we have to go to Kuta which will take around an hour from Ubud depending on the traffic.
Overall, we really love this villa and this is a perfect place to stay if you want rest, relaxation time with your loved one and family..

We stayed in Ubud Village Resort & Spa for 6 nights and truly enjoyed every moment of it. The resort is located outside of the very center of Ubud but they have a shuttle bus service which operates hourly. Walking to the center takes about 30 minutes.
The resort is very beautiful and tranquil. It is spread out to a wide area and surrounded by rice fields. We had a private villa with a garden view. We absolutely loved it! The villa was large, very clean and in a good condition. It had a spacious feeling, probably because of the glass walls which gave a lot of light to the villa. The beautiful garden had a small pool and a Balinese Balé.
The breakfast was good and the restaurant had a fantastic view to the rice fields.
The staff was very professional, helpful and friendly.
It is difficult to describe how special this resort is. For us it was a very special experience and we'll remember it for a long time!

Room Tip: There was still some construction going on in a nearby resort. We didn't notice any noise coming...

We were looking for a getaway and relaxation after a very busy travel schedule and we got it in The Ubud Village. The staff was amazingly nice, the food was excellent and we especially enjoyed our afternoon complimentary tea and snacks. Overlooking the rice fields was a daily treat. A clean pool with bar, drinks and good food in the middle of it all. Our villa was clean, pleasant with a private pool, outside bathtub and showers inside and out. They sprayed the whole resort twice a week against the mosquitos. The resort is like a small village itself. Real Temple included. We stayed 4 nights but would love to stay longer. We also visited the resort spa, which was a "must" experience. All the scrubs were made out of fresh produce (coconuts, lemons, flowers etc.), the service unforgettable. We visited Ubud last April and still if I need to remember something nice, I remember The Ubud Village Resort, the staff, mostly kind staff member Bingin and the whole atmosphere. I think we will be back.

We were welcomed by the amazing smell of frangipanis at reception.
Staff were friendly but did seem surprised when we were checking in so did appear a little disorganised (considering it was a hotel transfer that picked us up at the airport!)

The resort is in a great location, only a 15-20 minute walk into town, and was surrounded by paddi fields and trees - very peaceful and quiet.

The hotel offers a regular shuttle service (there and back) into town to the resort's sister hotel ubud village hotel.
However if you want a hotel taxi into town - its a fairly steep $10usd, therefore I'd recommend either walking or trying to find a local cab on the streets.

Loved looking out onto the paddi fields whilst eating breakfast...great location. However, the breakfast was just okay, we tried 4 selections from the menu - all were okay, nothing special.
The service was as you'd expect at a resort of this standard - exceptional!
Loved the complimentary afternoon tea... Good selection of teas and coffee, sweet and savoury snacks.

Favourite part was lounging by the main infinity pool, there was nice shade from the palm trees which provides relief from the midday sun.

The villa was spectacular, loved the outdoor shower and sunken bath. Only issue we has was that we ran out if hot water after I had a bath. Loads of space in the villa with a huge and comfortable bed.

There are ponds which run around the villa, filled with fish and frogs.
Loved lounging on the day-bed, it was massive, and provided the perfect spot to relax after a dip in the villa's private pool.

If you want rest, relaxation in paradise, but know that the hustle and bustle of the town is close - then this is a perfect place to stay.
