The staff are very friendly, much like most people we met in Ubud.
The hotel itself is beautiful: although some pictures you can see on the site are picture from the adjacent temple, the hotel itself looks just like the temple. It is full of sculptures, ornamented doors, a small fountain, and so on.
A big plus: the location is perfect. It is in the center of Ubud, but we did not hear the busy traffic of the main street. We did hear the very loud music from the adjacent temple: there was a performance of traditional music and/or dancing almost every night, but at least it lasted only for about an hour.
On the downside:
The room was okay, nothing great. It is not big, there is not a lot of furniture or decoration (as opposed to the outside). The shower had no curtain, and even though we tried very hard not to make a mess, there was water everywhere after each shower.
The pool was too cold, and there was too much chlorine. We spent less than 5 minutes in the pool, although we stayed for a week, which is a shame considering the weather was extremely hot and humid outside.
Overall, it is a nice place to stay, but it is not a four or five stars hotel.More
