“Don't want to leave!”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

It's our last night here (7 nights) and neither of us want to leave! Love the location, and LOVE the pool! I agree with some other reviewers though, needs more sun lounges.
Breakfast - my partner and I pretty much stuck to option 2 (omelette, banana pancake, fruit, juice, coffee) and we especially love the banana pancakes :-) staff were lovely and let us swap the pineapple juice with watermelon juice (each breaky option comes with a set juice).

Rooms - we were originally in studio 4 which had very little light (not much of a problem since we were out exploring or by the pool!) due to the construction next door. Not their fault though. We extended our stay by 3 nights and were moved to an upstairs room at the very back - huge windows on 2 sides of the room with plenty of light!!! Loved our second room even more :-) and they moved all of our stuff into the new room while we were out.

Staff - are lovely! Very accommodating, and eager to help. We built up quite a good rapport with them. My partner left his hat at a restaurant on the other side of Ubud, staff called the restaurant and then went and collected it for him! Our room was always clean and staff were always friendly :-)

Spa - the day spa is, of course, more expensive than the ones you can access off the streets (but what's $3 difference when it means you don't have to walk ? :-)), and the spa staff were very sweet and good at their job! Definitely recommend the traditional Balinese massage from them :-)

Construction next door - was a bit of a shame but we needed to be up fairly early most days anyway so wasn't too much of a hassle for us :-)

We don't want to leave tomorrow and will definitely return (Bali and Ubud in particular have captured our hearts!!!)

Room Tip: Studio 10 at the back if looking for a cheapy, but a goodie!!

We stayed here in July for a week. Sadly, there is construction taking place next to the resort and this will continue to be a problem for those affected by the noise. Otherwise this was a good place to stay and the location was good. We thought that it was situated some way from the restaurants, etc, but there a many excellent restaurants within a few minutes walk. The gardens at Tunjung Mas are very nice but the pool is a bit small and there are not enough sun loungers. The breakfast (included) was adequate but not great. The staff are good and helpful. The bath and shower let the place down and the water pressure was not sufficient. Also, the net over the bed needed washing.

We reserved a standard room (very good), but after 2 days we were upgraded to a superior room because there was a construction site nearby.
The staff was absolutely amazing. They provided us with everything we needed and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
The superior room was huge, it had a wonderful terrace and a separate entrance. We had breakfast on the terrace almost every morning, breakfast which was absolutely delicious. The pool is clean and the gardens and views are absolutely amazing. They cleaned the room every day.
There are beautiful flowers everywhere and it was very quiet and relaxing, we absolutely adored our time here!
However, there are a few things I didn't like, namely the towels and the sheets, which are quite old and grey (not all of them though). The internet connection only worked in the reception area or in the superior room. Other than that, everything was great!

Room Tip: It is worth spending extra money for a superior room!

ROOM: The room is dark and depressing. The bathroom and sheets were dirty, the furniture was old, cheap and falling apart. And as if that's not disheartening enough, there was a rodent in my bathroom in the middle of the night.

STAFF: When I told the staff about the rodent, the guy shoved a towel in the vent hole where the rat came in through, and jokingly offered to spend the night with me. That made me even more uncomfortable as I was a single female traveling alone. Then I decided to find another hotel and the staff was more interested in making sure that I paid in full then they were in helping me to find suitable accommodations. Overall, I think the staff was inexperienced and definitely not service oriented.

VIEW: The advertisements said there was a view of the rice paddies. The view is of a construction site next door, with a tiny rice paddy on the side of the construction site.

Please do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. There are plenty of lovely clean and professionally run places in Ubud that are less expensive than this place.

I Booked a standard room on line 50$ a night which is a good price. Swimming pool is small and some of the furniture needs changing. Beautiful garden well maintained. The staff is very nice and the receptionists are very helpful. The only downside right now is that there is a big construction site next door, they start at around 715am so if you like a lie down look for somewhere else. The inconvenience is not as much if you stay in a bungalow.

This hotel is just a short walk away from the busy business part of Ubud. The hotel is a wonderful retreat. The room was clean, cool and comfortable. The pool view was amazing. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There is currently construction going on next door, but it didn't bother us too much. The hotel staff was very apologitic about it. With the value and the comfort, I would definitely recommend this spot in Ubud.
