“My own Jungle house”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2011

I stayed at Natura for 4 nights, and I just loved it. First they upgraded me to room 8, a 2 bedroom villa with pool. It was just beautiful waking up to the scenery out the windows of the jungle. I had a huge day bed that 4 people could easily lay on, and a couple of sun lounges. I practised yoga here in my own privacy every morning. There is no one to hassel you, its soo quite too only the sound of nature, You have a restaurant there but the food was so so, not bad thou. There are 150 steps down to the 2 pool which is a lap pool. The reception were kind and easy to understand. I felt is was far from Ubud thou, BUT that was kinda good in the end because I didnt shop every day, and learnt to just relax in my villa.. its the kinda place that forces you to slow down, relax and enjoy nature. It is what I needed.
its a unique place too. Go here to relax.

Room Tip: Ask to be upgraded.

Dear all
I arrived yesterday to ubud. Checked in around midnight. The hotel is hard to find but well worth it. The staff breezed through checking and led me no a nice villa with a great bed and an bathroom under the open sky- amazing. I was amazed in the morning. The hotel is in the middle of a jungle forest looking down at a valley with a small river in it. The word "quiet" doesnt even begin to descrube it. Over the half day i only met very polite staff member who will do everything to make u feel at home. The spa is also amazing. I tries to upgrade to a better villa with a valley view or a terrace but unfortunately they only had the luxury one for another 50usd per night. Anyway- sofar an amazing experience. Would recommend it to any of my friends and fellow travelers looking for some quiet rest.

My wife and I spent 3 nights in Natura in Oct 2011. We found this property serene and relaxing amongst the forest in a steep valley in Laplapan. We found the villa quaint with it's mosquito netting covered bed, outdoor shower and bath-tub. The duplex villa that we were in had a lanai with a large open air gazebo that we put to good use when we were not pool side. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The spa was very nice, half way down the valley, about 150 steps down, but worth it when you get down there. The treatment rooms are fantastic with a wide open window over a running stream that provides a soothing atmosphere when you are having your treatment. The shuttle bus service was very efficient and runs at one hour intervals in the morning and 2 hour intervals in the afternoon.

All in all, a wonderful sanctuary amongs the tress while being a stone's throw away from the frantic bustle of downtown Ubud.

We would recommend this property and compared to the other hotels that we have seen, the price at Natura is good value.

Room Tip: Only a total of 14 villas with 2 of these being private pool villas in this property.

We spent one night at the Natura Resort as part of our honeymoon and can only recommend it for couples who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud city. The resort is set in the middle of the jungle and the peaceful atmosphere of the place made us relax from the moment we arrived. The views are stunning and the room we stayed in had a very private feel to it.

There is a free shuttle bus going to Ubud centre (about 10 minutes away) on a regular basis.

Pros: location, very friendly staff, private atmosphere
Cons: breakfast meets standards but is nothing special, some parts of the resort seem to need a little bit of maintenance

Room Tip: Villa No.12: very private, sunny all day long which heats the water in the private plunge pool

We stayed 3 nights in September in Natura.

We had a Deluxe room which had a balcony overlooking the jungle in the small valley, beautiful. We liked the room (bathroom, bed, design, etc) and the hotel facilities (jacuzzi, plunge pool - though a bit cold, terrace of the restaurant) very much. We had a driver for certain activities around Ubud, but appreciated the shuttle service to the city of Ubud. Staff (and management) is friendly.

2 negative comments:
- Dinner at the restaurant was very disappointing (avoid it!) and the hotel management should improve this. Breakfast was ok, although the service was too slow.
- Massages, etc are too expensive (same prices as 5 stars hotels of South Bali) (we did not try them because of the price)

Villa has a very peaceful atmosphere. Our family enjoyed a beautiful morning with birds chirping. Very easy to go to downtown Ubud. Thank you to all the people there who have served us well.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2011

My partner and I stayed at the Natura from 1-2 September 2011. The Natura is an isolated resort on top of a steep gorge with a river below in a spectacular jungle setting. The pool villa was lovely and room 10 consisted of two single beds pushed together and joined by a piece of foam mattress which was a bit uncomfortable. Tea and coffee supplies provided were frugal and only provided when requested. The kettle didn’t boil water properly. Instructions on how to use the safe were not provided. The 10 minute welcome massage was fabulous. The advertised afternoon tea consisted of half a cold toasted sandwich and a cup of tea. The American breakfast consisted of a choice or fresh fruit or fruit juice, a choice of breads and egg dishes with bacon etc and tea/coffee. The tomato juice was pale red, watery and sweet. Advertised fresh fruit wasn’t available. Apart from the view, breakfast was unimpressive. The noodle lunch was adequate. There are two lovely pools at Natura but only 1 useable as the lap pool, accessible via many steep stairs, is only provided with 2 lounge chairs so there is nowhere to sit except on the ground. Do not try and walk to the main road – there are many unfriendly dogs and the locals do not speak English. If you like walking, except for many steep stairs, you should avoid this resort. (My email to the resort asking if there were stairs was not answered). I didn’t try any of the spa services as they are expensive compared to other services in the region. The Natura is good for sitting back and reading a book but if you want a food experience, you will need to get the shuttle to Ubud (taxi costs around AU$5 one way if you miss the shuttle). The English skills of the staff are extremely limited.

Room Tip: I wouldn't bother paying extra for a pool villa as it is only a plunge pool and too cold to use.
