We stayed at the Lokha for 5 nights on our honeymoon on the basis of their being a lot do and see in Ubud and the surrounding areas. We really enjoyed visiting Ubud as it has a good nightlife and many restaurants and there are a lot of cool places to visit by car.

First impressions of the hotel were good, its a little out the way and you have to go on single track roads to get there but once you do the hotel is unique and covers a hill overlooking the rain forrest and river. The lobby has wonderful views of the rain forest.

While the lobby and rooms are nice and modern we found that it was difficult to relax in the resort due to it being in the rain forest and their being insects everywhere you looked. For a few nights it would be fine but the longer we stayed there we yearned for simple things like a mozzie free night and to relax by the pool - to put it in context the restaurant is outdoors and a lot of insects would be around all the public areas, we had 20 mozzie bites between us on checkout, this was the only place in Bali we had mozzie bites.

In the end we cut the stay short as we couldn't relax in the hotel and it was impacting our honeymoon, we went back to the south of the island.

The hotel wouldn't refund us the night we lost which was really poor customer service, in addition the staff were not as friendly or experienced as the other hotels we stayed at.

Another sore point was having to pay to use the jacuzzi and sauna in the spa! For a nice hotel we would have expected these to be included.

We stayed in the Lokha for 5 night's. On entrance the staff do look after you with welcome smile. Set in the jungle valley beautiful views outside.

Rooms are spacious. However 1st night there was a damp smell..Informed staff and problem was sorted. We stayed on level 1 so view outside balcony was OK but not as great if you were in higher floor.

Breakfast good selection. We had dinner 1 night in hotel & was good and reasonably priced.

Loved the added free afternoon tea & snacks between 3-5pm. We managed to try twice.

If going on early morning trip hotel organise breakfast boxes which had a good variety of croissants and fruit.

Walk to Ubud centre is 25mins. However they do offer shuttle bus. They need to offer more shuttle bus service after 5.00pm as there is only 1 bus at 5.00pm or 9.00pm. Also return journey perhaps 1 more bus after 9.30pm

I would recommend this place if your looking for a jungle stay.

The Lokha in Ubud was a great place to relax after being in busy Kuta for four nights and conveniently close to base ourselves around the Ubud waterfalls, Bali Zoo and Monkey Forest.

My experience of this hotel was a quiet one. Not many people around the hotel and a quiet few poolside.
It is a bit of a hike from the centre of Ubud - about 3.5kms I believe but this just ads to the secluded jungle charm.
The hotel does offer shuttles to Ubud several times a day too so it’s not completely solitary.

The food here was great. I must have had 8 bowls of Tom Yam Goong Soup during my stay and the Crispy Prawns were delicious too.

The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating and the hotel itself beautiful!

I would advise though, if you stay in a room that begins to smell like damp air conditioning after the first day, then ask to move rooms. We put up with this smell but it is quite noticeably stronger after a day or two.

All in all our stay was a really relaxing one.

We stayed here with our kids for 2 nights and it was definitely not enough. The place is beautiful and the food is delicious. We have the breakfast included and brought dinner there both nights. Rooms are stocked well and perfectly clean. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The views are to die for! They also have s free bus service into town and back again. Or you can walk which is about 20-30mins. We took the bus because we have small kids and the heat is too much for them to walk in. Well definitely be coming back!
