We were treated like royalty in stunning surroundings. Everyone was so friendly and out to make our stay unforgettable. We had a villa with a private pool which was so special and worth every Rupia. The hotel has a great location and free taxi service to any of the many wonderful restaurants in Ubud.

Went on a long overdue honeymoon trip (wif the lil one in tummy!). What you see on the photos are what you will really get. A private pool (slightly deep) as well as a bathtub very close to nature!

Loads of plants within the compound, but you will never get lost in finding your mansion. We just enjoyed the peaceful and serene area while we could.

There was coincidentally a passing of a royalty but we didnt manage to view it due to my pregnancy state but hubby managed to play a short game of soccer at a nearby field with people whom we just met at the streets:-)

Very nice Bali people, very nice Villa and will surely recommend to those who are willing to splurge a little during their trip to Bali!

Kajane Mua Villas is the stuff you read about. I booked a private villa with a pool and to quote my husband "I feel like Brad Pitt". It was part inside part outside and so incredibly romantic. The staff was phenomenal and satisfied all my requests for a surprise romantic evening with my husband. Wish we could've stayed longer...we'll be back!!!!

As the end of our 10 days at Kajane Mua approaches it has been another wonderful holiday to this magical place.
This is the third time we have stayed at Kajane, it is without doubt one of the best locations to stay in Ubud.
This was our second time staying at Villa Nara, which is towards the rear of the property, secluded, private and very quiet.Has a large 9 x 5 swimming pool, seperate dressing room, king size bed, full size fridge and all the creature comforts of home. I recommend Nara Villa as the villas that are located towards the front of the complex have construction going on in the property next door, which is quite noisy during the day, as some guests have complained.
Your shuttle driver can drop you at the rear of the Villa Complex which makes it a very short walk down some steps to Villa Nara, rather than from the front where you have to walk up quiet alot of stairs to the top - we did walk this many times but used the meandering pathway that leads to the spa, which is a much more gentle walk to the top.
The staff here are just fantastic, so friendly, I would like to mention "Mega" who always makes us laugh and provides fantastic service" also Putu and Angus who speak very good english and both provide a very high level of service and are so friendly.
Also the manager visited us half way through our stay, to see how we where going and if we had any issues, I thought this was a very nice gesture, and shows the proffesionalism of this Hotel.

We ordered the American breakfast some mornings - Wow! so much good quality food.

Kajane is located half way down Monkey Forrest Rd, right in the middle of Ubud, the famous Cafe Wayan (mentioned in Eat,Pray ,Love) is located right next door, a 30 seconded walk, and the food, atmosphere and service is to die for.
Kajane provide a shuttle service to anywhere in the Ubud area, and are available on request - a fantastic service, just make sure you get a guest card of the driver, so you can then show to any restraunt and they will ring the shuttle for you when you have finished dinner.

We had fantastic massages at the Royal bali Massage and Spa, which is about a 5 min walk towards town and is opposite the footaball oval and is located upstairs, very new, clean, fully airconditioned and very professional, you will see the girls sitting out the front wearing orange shirts/brown pants - I highly reccomend this massage place.

Just before the football oval on the right hand side, is a authorised money changer - Pt Dirgahayu Valuta Prima (bright green shop) which is an offical money changer where you get a receipt and one of the best exchange rates-also has a icy cold aircon.

For the best cup of coffee we went to Bali Kopi House which is down right next to the Monkey Forrest walk - we got the shuttle to drop us of there and then walked back - by far the best coffee we had in Bali - they surely know what they are brewing.

other favorite eateries are Cafe Lotus, Murnies and Casa Luna, if you want something special, try Mozaic - not cheap but WOW! worth Googling anyway.

If you need a driver for any day trips, I cannot reccomend highly enough "Ari" who was by far the best drive rwe have ever had, he is more than a taxi, Ari is a genuine tour driver who knew his way around Bali like I have never seen before - a true professional, his website is www.ubuddriver.com
we ended up using "Ari" on many outings during our 2 weeks in Ubud, including pick up from the airport.

it has been a most wonderful stay again at Kajane, a big thankyou to all the staff who made our stay so nice.

The villas are amazing! The best place we have ever stayed in. We took the honeymoon package which was excellent: breakfast in the villa, a massage, candle light dinner, ... Moreover, the staff was very nice and helpful and the location perfect.

We spent a week in KajaNe Mua and would go back with no hesitation. It's incredible that from the bustle of the "downtown" street you step into a tranquil oasis of manicured tropical gardens. We first had a beautiful mansion room with a balcony and view of the pool and gardens and later the upstairs half of a villa at the back of the property, where we shared the private garden and pool with the couple downstairs (saw them once, never heard them) thanks to the amazing staff who never seemed to have a bad day. We were very happy with the breakfast service, a variety of set menus, either in the restaurant from which you can watch the street life, or on the terrace of our room. Same with the complimentary afternoon tea and cakes. The hotel property is quite big, nicely landscaped, and surrounded at the back by rice fields. There is also a stream going through the gardens. You can often see and hear frogs and different birds and timid geckoes outside, never a problem. Also, I am usually a magnet for mosquitos anywhere in the world but the coils here lit by the second room service every day worked wonderfully, not a single bite! The accommodation is very comfortable with very good mattress, an easy chair in the room, and one of two sofas on the terrace and also a table with chairs for two to eat or read. Bathrooms have separate shower and bathtub and are well appointed with nice toiletries. Also, beautiful local paintings in gorgeous frames on the walls! There is hardly anything they had not thought about here. It's easy walking distance to the palace, water palace, dance performances, and tourist info at the corner of Monkey Forest Rd and Jalan Raya with their list od daily performances and tours, and if you walk out at the back, you're in rice fields and along the back road there are nice galleries and places to eat, too, a lot more tranquil but not less interesting than main streets. I know the hotel was full when we were there but we only glimpsed occasionally the other guests, mostly at breakfast. We used Ubud Music Tourist Services for daytrips around the island, they are on Jalan Raya, across the street from Cafe Lotus (or Starbucks), ask for Eddy. For money exchange we used Ubud Valasindo, also on Jalan Raya, but farther out, closer to Museum Blanco. The restaurants on Monkey Forest Rd were hit and miss, the cooking school restaurant served crisp and smoked ducks, Cafe Wayan was always busy, and Laughing Buddha across the street was always packed. Bendi's has a nice breezy seating upstairs but the food is pedestrian.

Room Tip: We loved the gardens so a villa at the back will secure a nice walk, if that's what you like. So...
