Walking down the tourist shopping Mecca of Monkey Forest Road you would never imagine the spacious well laid out serenity of the Cendana Hotel is located right there. We stayed first in the delux room and then in the superior 4 nights in each . We took a little side side trip to Yogyakarta in the middle. Both were spacious , clean , well appointed and well laid out . I think I actually liked the Superior (cheaper ) room better because it was bigger (delux was huge as well) and had better Wifi.
The rice paddy provided a changing vista of genuine Bali agriculture.
The Salt Water pool was simply the best pool I have ever seen. Huge, cool, and elevated . You can while away a day here with ease.
Breakfast was excellent.
The staff delightful and security felt 100%. I left my laptop and ipad lying around in full view all the time.
There are easily 200 places to stay around UBUD. I wouldnt even bother to look at another one when I return.

This hotel is located at the busy monkey forest road but amazingly you will feel the quiet and serene atmosphere inside the hotel area. Love to spend relax time at the balcony and salt-water pool. The pool is infinite facing to the rice field. You can see the local people working in their fields and can also interact with them.
Foods and drinks taste good when we order for lunch but breakfast buffet is average. Receptionist / check in service is very good, others are average. But we're dissappointed for the housekeeping service as the guy is keep waiting near our balcony to wait for our check-out to clean up the room, while it's still 11am! We need privacy to enjoy our balcony before our check-out time. Hope for the better and polite way for the next time.
Overall it's really good choice of stay in ubud and highly recommended. Will definitely come back here if we have a trip to ubud again.

Room Tip: Stay in standard room is just good enough to enjoy this hotel and the rice fields. Our room 312A is located at the corner so it also has salt water pool view beside rice field view. All rooms have old furnitures and bed, but the bathroom is spacious and modern.

We just had a wonderful stay at Cendana. Other than it being the best location you will get, the staff here are wonderful. The gardens are beutifully looked after and the atmosphere around the pools (2) in this property are very relaxed. We have stayed in other places in Ubud, but we will be coming back here for the excellent service and wonderful relaxed atmosphere in the heart of town.

Room Tip: Rooms are huge. I like ground floor near the pool

Our first night in Ubud and we went here on recommendation of our villa. We weren't disappointed (although not in the same league as some of the other restaurants around town) as this was a great feast.

Room Tip: this is a restaurat not hotel hahaha
