We've just got back from two weeks in a villa at the Alam Puisi, and are already planning our next trip!

The villas are set in the middle of the rice paddies and have amazing views. A very beautiful peaceful spot, but there's plenty to to do and see nearby if you can manage to drag yourself away from the private pool! The hotel provides a free shuttle into Ubud 4 times a day, but local taxis are also reasonable. We generally got the shuttle into Ubud for dinner as there are lots of really good restaurants there, but the food in the onsite restaurant was also good (we had breakfast there most mornings and had lunch and dinner on a few occasions).

Our villa was very comfortable and spacious - the bed was huge and really comfy. The staff are absolutely wonderful and pre-empted our every need. They even organized for some people from their local community to put on a barong dance at the villas during the Balinese festival which coincided with our stay - a really special experience.

I've travelled all over the world, but this is one of my favorite holidays ever (especially as we got an amazing deal on Agoda!)!

First of all the staff are amazing! They were extremely sincere and nothing was too much trouble. We had initially only booked three nights but extended for an extra four because we loved it so much. Like others have mentioned the villas are a short drive out of Ubud however that is what made it more relaxing for us. It was easy to get into town and explore the surrounding area but after spending time in town we always enjoyed coming home to our villa.

The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. The staff do a nice turn down service at night which was lovely to come home to. They also brought us fresh fruit in the afternoon which was a nice surprise. The highlight of our stay was lying on the outside day bed watching the ducks in the rice paddies and the fireflies at night. We would also like to highlight the staff at the spa especially the male masseuse (who is also the yoga instructor) they were wonderful and very skilled.

Only cons would be the temperature of the pool. The weather was quite mild and at times I found the pool too cold to enter. On the morning village walk there were so many dogs that harassed us and two did try to bite someone in our group.

It really depends on what type of holiday you want to have in Ubud. My boyfriend and I just wanted to relax and spend time together so Alam Puisi was perfect. We also got a great deal through Agoda (approx 100 USD) which made it value for money. We will definitely stay here again.

This place was very very good. Firstly the room (102) was amazing, large, clean with it's own pool and bail. Aircon worked well and the bathroom was large with a shower/wetroom. Every morning we were there ( 4 in all ) there were workers tending the rice fields in front of our room. We attended 3 of the 4 posible free yoga sessions run by Anan. He also gave me some very good breathing lessons and a full body massage which made me feel a million dollars. Breakfast was very good and the flexible shuttle in and out of Ubud was well worth using. All the staff were super, they even gave me a Gamelan lesson. Had a couple of evening meals there, including room service. Could not fault anything.Thank you for a fantastic 4 night stay.

Room Tip: To get the south facing room, for sun on the pool and views of the rice paddys you need 101 to 106

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. We stayed only 4D3N. Wish we could've stayed longer!

Pros:
-The staff are extremely flexible. They were flexible with lifts to Ubud, adjusting the private tours, and allowing us to leave our luggage with them past check-out so that we could explore the city before heading to the airport.
- Cleanliness. The staff clean your room up to twice a day and upon request.
- Cultural engagements. We loved how intentional this villa is with teaching guests about the real Bali culture. There are several cooking classes, trekking, tours, etc.
- Peaceful. There's other guests there, but you hardly notice. I think everyone is enjoying their private pool and lovely view of the rice fields. If you are looking for some quiet time, this is the place to be! And if you want to mix in some excitement, It's only about 20 minute ride from Ubud city!

Cons:
-Although everything is wonderful, the full price of $450USD seems overpriced. Fortunately, we found a major discount.
- Spiders. No fault to the staff, because they clean thoroughly and often...but we usually found spiders on the outdoor bed. (however, when I asked someone to come clean it- they came right away!)
- The 7am morning trek may not be worth it. We thought they'd take us around the rice fields & teach us about the rice process, but instead went to a small, hidden, temple.

Overall- LOVED this place. Would go there again.

Room Tip: Check for spiders behind the pillows on the outdoor bed before lounging! They seem to hide from the...

I stayed 2 nights in Alam Puisi. The villa is about 15-20 min drive from ubud main area. It's far and quite villa to chill. At nights you can experience skies with many stars while swimming. The pool was good and reasonable length. The breakfast choice was little (3 choices) but just nice for 2 night stay. The bed was comfortable, it's a poem villa where you could find inspiring statements from the villa. It's value for money. Overall was a great experience. There are shutter service pickup from ubud main area. The taxi back to villa quite costly about 100 K IDR, I got a bargain price at 900K IDR. So try to take the shutter instead of taking your own transport. For temple visiting, you may need a sarong which you can try to rent for free from the villa. That's a good service from the villa but the sarongs are limited so book early if you need.

Room Tip: Rooms at 10x have better views.

The usual great and friendly Indonesia service. Surprisingly good fare at the restaurant. Comfortable rooms even thought the individual pools are a little useless since there are no sunning possibilities. The mattress in our room was the best we slept on in our entire three week Indonesian trip. It is rather remote but they have great activities and I would suggest that you dine at least once at the Organic Paddy Restaurant down the road. Thank you Alam Puisi. Nicholas and Karine.

When can I come back is the question. My boyfriend and I traveled all over Asia for three weeks and theres no place we would return to anytime soon other than Bali and Alam Puisi Villa's. Not only was it a BEAUTIFUL resort but the service is excellent! Wayan was such a joy to be around and answered all of our annoying tourist questions with pleasure.lol. Everyone was so respectful and made you feel as family. Kadek was our taxi driver/tour guide/ and now new friend and he was amazing. We were actually really sad to say our good-bye's. The hotel itself was very clean well put together and just relaxing, peaceful, and private. The food was great ,everything was great. highly recommend this resort! well missed!
