A community conscious establishment managed by intelligent staff who is dedicated to your needs, making your stay as comfortable as possible. Each room comes with butler service.

If you are tired, stressed and needed a break from your city lifestyle, this is the place for you. Take a yoga class and sip ginger tea. You will be glad that you are saying nameste looking out into the rice padi field.

There is only one restaurant and is sufficient. There are three options in the daily breakfast and can be both wholesome and delicious. Meals at the restaurant are priced higher than the ones outside the resort but having dinner there will be one of the best dinning experience one would ever have. The dancing candle lights in the field are most captivating.

There is a place suitable for mature travellers who just want to...take a outdoor shower and relax.

We were at the Chedi with our two adult children and their partners -- it was a perfect spot to relax, really decompress and spend quality time with others. We were in Villas 1 and 15 -- Villa 1 is the original house of the famed Indonesian architect and art collector who owns the Chedi. The Chedi was built as his private family estate, and it retains that non-hotel-like charm. The owner's art collection still graces the estate.

Our villa was huge - probably 2500+ square feet -- with its own large living area: two huge, comfortable bedrooms, huge bathrooms, private outdoor showers, a private decent-sized pool, with a wonderful mattressed covered pavilion next to it where the six of us gathered most days to read, laze, play games...

The restaurant by the paddy-fields is so serene that the relaxation we felt was physically palpable. The spa and massages were excellent as well, as was the yoga instructor. The best part was that we barely noticed the other guests -- we were always surprised to see a few others at morning yoga or at dinner -- the villas are so private.

The German general manager Stefan is doing a great job, and even gave us a great recommendation for a beach restaurant on our last day there. Each villa comes with its own butler, and the price we paid included breakfast and use of the mini-bar, and was truly a great value. Our butler took care of everything for us.

We learned that GHM hotels which manages the Chedi is a sister chain of the Aman Resorts -- no wonder it is so well run, at a fraction of Aman prices! We would go there again at any time...

Had 3 amazing days at Chedi Club at the beginning of our Bali holiday. Have had many trips to Bali but this was the first time we have stayed in Ubud. Set in the rice-paddies the Chedi Club provides a haven from the chaos that is found in the busier resort areas.
From the moment we arrived and were welcomed by our butler Agus, we were spoiled with service. Nothing was too much trouble and every staff member was courteous and helpful. Enjoyed the delicious breakfast, drinks by the pool, afternoon tea and evening cocktails. All included in the price. We ate in the restaurant at night as we found the food exceptional and well priced. On the day we took a trip to the Elephant Safari Park, we returned to find Agus had constructed two elephants using towels and decorated with flowers sitting on our bed. An unforgettable part of our holiday!

Spent 2 nights in a Pool Villa...other than the main bedroom with his/hers vanity area, toilet, shower area, being a pool villa, there is also an oversized outdoor bathtub, a separate pantry/little kitchen, in additional to the pool with its own deck chairs and verandah. All in our own private enclosure.

The pool size is not big, decent only - but you can always go to the hotel main pool. The water temperature is comfortable, even at midnight when we had a great time frolicking under the very starry starry night. Not many places where I can see such clear stars anymore (from where i come from.)

We made our reservations without an additional bed for our 5 year old kid, but to our surprise, one was made up for him, at no additional charges! I am also touched by the fact that our butler noticed that we had many empty small bottles of mineral water around for making milk, and the next morning, we found a big bottle of the same brand, waiting for us to use. It is these small little touches that makes a hotel outstanding from the rest.

I tried the yoga class (runs on a schedule so check first) overlooking the padi field. Great instructor, and served with cool ice tea and fruits after class - very thoughtful. Highly recommended if you have the time.

Also tried the spa, very good too. Except that I find the room a little too warm (room opens out to the padi fields) and thus make it a little unpleasant for me.

You can take compliemtary tea, with very comfortable lounges in the restuarant, overlooking the padi. Breakfast is also served in the same restuarant overlooking the padi, with choice selection, including fresh juices and pancakes with hugh chunks of bananas - delicious!

We also took a complimentary trek organised by our butler in the padi fields. Yes, who needs more padi field after looking at it everyday and night? But I highly recommend it if you love a walk in local nature-- the trek takes you through the padi fields, where we saw the locals harvesting, running them through the local mills, saw a calf under a banana shade, a mother duck with her ducklings in the fields, passed though a local village with the everyday life of Bali people right around you, including a small local market and temples etc. Even manage to buy some wood carvings from the village shop. Saw children playing and people bathing and washing clothes right outside the river running outside the Chedi hotel grounds, before turning back into the peaceful oasis of the Chedi Club grounds. Highly recommended if you do not mind a little trek and some muddy shoes.

Vast hotel grounds with only 20 plus units, means that there is a lot of privacy around. Only thing I do not really like is that due to the same reason, when you get back to the hotel after dark, it also means that you have to walk through the dimly lighted grounds back to your rooms - so remember to bring along the touches that are provided in the rooms when you go out in the evenings!

Overall, a very relaxing place to unwind in near nature surroudings. Highly recommeded.

We were here for a 5 day holiday. We specifically chose The Chedi Club for its renowed service and because of the peaceful surrounding. We went away rested, contented and very very happy. Unfortunately, I was ill during the stay and requested a doctor. Our personal butler was prompt in assistance. By the next day, each of the hotel's staff was enquiring after my well being. Food was great - please try all the jams they serve during breakfast - yummy and unique! I think the real winner here for me was the genuine warmth that you feel from the people at The Chedi Club. Our congratulations to the GM and his entire team! We are definitely coming back.

From the moment we stepped inside the entrance, to being enveloped by the stunning rice-growing location, this hotel, the Chedi Clud never failed to impress.

The staff are extremely soft and the service is nothing but seamless and top-notch. The attention to detail is always evedent and everything is thought of - including making you feel one of the family during your stay.

A nice touch is providing most beverages complimentary and a transfer service into Ubud town and to the distant airport.

A true getaway where the outside world can really be put on hold.

We stayed at the Chedi for 5 nights with our two children 12 and 13. We chose the spa villa which was very spacious and had it's own sauna, plunge pool, outdoor shower, tub and spa room. I booked based on the reviews I read and they were spot on. The grounds are incredible and set in the rice paddys. Our personal butler Sutari attended to our every need and went our of her way to make the children as comfortable as possible. The GM Stephan was charming and personal. The location is perfect for popping into Ubud to shop or eat for it's only 10 minutes aways. We will defiantly return!
